BAP certified for ethical fishing practices, this farm-raised fish is a welcome addition to your household menu. To prepare, pat the basa fish dry, season as desired, and place on a non-stick baking sheet. Cook on the middle rack of a preheated 450°F (232°C) oven for 8-12 minutes, flipping halfway through. We seldom eat this type of fish but prefer the Basa over some of the other frozen fish. It shrinks far less and is such a mild flavor that it works nicely with most seasonings. This is also the fish of choice for fish and chips as it holds its own for shrink and moisture content. We like being able to buy the 1.13 kg size also. And the price is affordable

Mild flavor versatile fillets.

I've been buying this regularly for the last year or two and am always satisfied with the quality and taste of the product. It's a neutral flavoured white fish and makes a great addition to a meal. I regularly add it to a veggie curry after baking it in the over for about ten minutes. It's a great way to add some protein to the meal at a really good price. Currently it's priced at $9.99 and there are usually about six pieces in the pack, individually frozen. FYI, as with most frozen fish, there's quite a bit of moisture when it's first defrosted, so I generally squeeze it between paper towel before baking.

Inside that package was six vacuum sealed fillets. I've purchased this twice now and both times got six filets. Sometimes the vacuum packing wasn't so great as there was air in the package, but it was sealed and hopefully flash frozen so the contents were safe? 

As a fish, Basa is both light in texture and flavour. I steamed the fish filets to cook them, then made a basic vegetable broth thickened with cornstarch, I stir fried frozen broccoli then poured in the thickened broth. I seasoned the fish with salt and pepper and fresh garlic and cut into cubes and carefully added it to the thickened broth. 

We ate that poured over white rice. It was delicious, light and filling yet I could still taste the fish - but my husband couldn't tell it was fish. It wasn't fishy but it hinted at being a fish.
