Motor is lightweight and easy to operate.

Can be straightforward, but may require adjustments.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I tried it on a 2 person kayak.  No crazy speed, but definitely faster than paddling by hand.  Need to insert it deep into the water so you don't hear splashing sound and it is more efficient.  End up using max length do drive deep enough.  A little strange to control it over my shoulder and can't really install it next to me as it is really heavy and will tilt the kayak.

Very neat to have battery and motor as one with no wires.

I would love to see standing scooters on 40v.

Perfect for fishing

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Fantastic motor. Had it out for 3 hours yesterday duck hunting in 1° Celsius weather. Had it on 100% for a good amount of this time as it was a big lake. Battery died after about 1:40...pretty good life in the cold weather. Used 2nd battery at 50% for the last 50 mins and only dropped on bar of 4.

Greenworks 55 lb 40 volt Trolling motor

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This is a great trolling motor
I purchased this for use on a 12ft aluminum boat and I ran it for a week at the cottage prior to this review. The 55lbs motor has no issue moving the boat, it is very light weight and easy to handle and use. It is so convenient having such a small light weight battery for the operation of this motor.
I did a runtime test, the boat was loaded with me and my 2 kids so roughly 400Lbs plus the boat, It ran for 45min at full speed before dyeing which i thought was excellent. Run time would be longer if using lower speeds as well.
I only have a few cons for this motor
1. It is noisy compared to the regular battery trolling motor I have used in the past. There is a whining noise the circuit board makes during operation, it is louder at lower speeds which can become a bit irritating when you are on the lake on a quite morning
2. It has a delay for start up, you turn the handle to start and it will take a second to respond. This is more prominent when you first put the battery in and is a bit less afterwards. Again this is something you get used to and adjust for
3. Some of the plastic is pretty flimsy and i foresee breaking IE. the trim adjustment lever and mechanism. The plastic flexes a lot especially if you do not counter the weight of the motor prior to pulling the handle to adjust  
4. I feel there should be a lower speed. When i was trying to troll with my line in the water it was still going too fast, i had to add a lot of weight to keep my lure down
At the end of the day I am still really satisfied with this trolling motor, I am not an avid fisher or very good either but i think this would be an issue for someone more serious about the sport looking at this motor. My main reasons for purchasing this motor were to have something simple for my son to use and to get us around the lake and it checks those boxes. 100% would buy again and it was a great deal when it came up for the sale price.
