Tine Performance

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I'm very impressed with the cutting power of this tiller! It handled my garden beds, even the harder, dried-out soil, and pulled up pine needles and smaller weeds with ease. The beds were ready for planting when I finished, with no extra work needed. The battery life was great, and the fast charger got it ready to go again quickly. My only complaints are that the wheels wobble quite a bit and the tiller has only three wheel height settings. Overall, though, it's a powerful, convenient tool that gets the job done!

Lightweight, easy to use, powerful tiller

greenworkstools.com

I have a new troy built cultivator. It runs about 10 minutes dies and will not restart, it has been used twice. Got sick of pulling the rope so I was looking at cordless cultivators and spotted the green works one. I'm very satisfied with my 80 volt chain saw I didn't even think about it I purchased that day. Works as well as described, runs about 45 minutes on a battery. The chain saw battery is same as cultivator so I now have 3 batteries so I will never be waiting on a charge.

got gas?

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Pleased with the power of the unit and the depth of the till. Perfect for small gardens and flowerbeds.

Tiller

The Green works 10" Tines were simple to install, was amazed how easy it was to change out the old ones, just remove clips and pull off, install the new ones and you can't get them mixed up, they are properly marked with A thru D and rotation indicator on each one, simple.

Simple

Super lightweight, easy to handle, charge lasts long enough that when it dies I am ready for a break. The battery charges quick and I can be back to work. I have rocky soil and clay about 6-8 inches down, it can still till that up, but I do have to focus it in one area for a minute sometimes if the sod is dense.
It is compact enough that is stores nicely as well.

I love this tiller!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i love this tiller. Previously had 2-stroke tiller, can no longer pull the rope to start it up, and it did not dig as deep as this one. Ran it for over an hour before battery needed recharge, and only waited 30 minutes for recharge. I wish I had this years ago.

Amazing power and depth!

I bought this a month ago and very pleased with my purchase. I had checked reviews on rototillers recommended for woman and this was in the top 3. I'd rate it higher because no mixing gas and no power cord. It's light weight yet works great. The weeds in my garden were overgrown but this took care of them. I was concerned because some of the reviews mentioned the battery was hard to remove but it's not. I have arthritis in my hands and have no difficulty removing the battery.

Easy to use

You have to expect that it's not going to just float over the soil - it digs down and then you maneuver it to move on to the next spot, just like any garden tiller. However, I found it easy to handle by this 120 lb. 5'2" gardener. The best part was, when I got in a tight turn around spot in my raised bed, I just shut it off and turned it around! No worries about having to pull a cord to start it up again - just push a button and lift a lever. It dug deep, too. Would recommend it highly.

Makes short work of getting the garden ready! Love it!

Overall function of the cultivator is great. Out of the package the pins for the tines did not have enough clearance to fit. I had to grind the heads of the pins to fit. If a person had no tools that would give it a poor rating. The other negative is the plastic tine guard is too big. It needs to be half of that size. I thought about cutting it to a reasonable size so you can actually see where the tines are.

Needs some design revisions

I've purchased Greenworks products before and liked them, this one I do not for several reasons: (1) The tangs on the tiller are basically just saw blades in shape - they do not cut roots (like a typical "L-shaped" blade does. They mix dirt, but do not cut the roots of any small plant; (2) It's not very well made, it broke about 30 minutes into use when the cotter-pin they have on the blades fell off and dissappered into the dirt; (3) and the ergonomics on this are really poorly designed - the handle should be around 18" shorter. You end with the handle being closer to your arm pits than your waist. I did give it two stars because the battery lasted a full 30 minutes before I needed to recharge it, and it was easy to assemble.
