At 75, I've owned many grills over the years but never a griddle.
Preparing for my backyard griddle to be delivered and converted to natural gas, I watched dozens of online videos; everything from seasoning the surface and care and maintenance, to best tested recipes for fried rice.
Backstone Griddle Seasoning was highly recommended in many videos. I carefully watched exactly how to use it to maximum benefit.
Suffice to say now that I was extremely pleased with how easy it was to season my new griddle, and how well it is performing since. It's been almost a month, and I am griddling at least 3x a week.

I was a little skeptical if I needed a proprietary seasoning mixture for my griddle, but I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. I liked it so much that I've order 2 more jars and plan to use it after each BBQing session. There's no odd smell and leaves the griddle with a proper seasoning.

The seasoning was top notch and melted into a thin layer with no additives to be seen.  The griddle seasoned very nicely.

Good, Clean Seasoning

We used this from the beginning on our griddle. We would highly recommend watching the video on how to season your griddle. It really helped clear up any confusion we had.

Quick and easy, just apply to grill and let it burn off.  Creates the perfect surface for cooking my chicken, potatoes and onions.  Clean off with the Blackstone cleaning tool and add more seasoning to keep it perfectly seasoned.  Awesome product.

Blackstone Griddle Seasoning

This product works extremely well. Blackstone tells you to use an oil from home or there product, which is a mixture of different oils. For the price,  I went with the larger size of 15.3 oz.  This stuff goes a long way and is well worth the price. You will not be disappointed.

This made seasoning a breeze. I was a little nervous about the seasoning process but the instructions were clear and being a solid made it easier to not apply too much at once

Probably not a necessity, but helpful

We purchased this product and used it for the first time. We were happy with how our black stone seasoned up. After finishing using this product, we wiped the excess off with paper towels. After a little while, they were discarded in the trash in the house. A little while later, the trash was taken out to the garage to be taken down the driveway later. About 30-45 minutes later, the trash bag caught on fire. The napkins were not hot when they were out in the trash. Apparently spontaneous combustion can happen with these oil soaked rags/towels. There is a caution label on the product but I don't think people realize the danger of this. Luckily, we were home and was able to put the fire out with damage only to the garage. If we had already left, which we were getting ready to do, no doubt our house would've burned down. So if you purchase this product, please use caution and discard your oil soaked rags only in a fire proof container.
