With a heat range of up to 240,000 BTUs, lighting a small gill takes just minutes with the torch gun. To use, simply attach your torch gun to any 1-pound propane bottle or a 20-pound propane tank with a hose and you're on your way to deliciously prepared food. The charcoal mix is made of Missouri oak, hickory, maple, and pecan wood. This hardwood burns longer, cleaner, and more consistently than other charcoal. Burning was very well a d the smoke point was great. We made burgers and meats and they came out very well. I liked how well it burned and the food cooked well. It was in a heavy duty bag so it didn't rip when moving it around to cook like many bags we've used in the past. Love that it's natural, we will definitely be buying this in the future!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Rockwood All Natural lump charcoal is a very good product. I used this the other day on my smoker with some salmon and they turned out great. The salmon had a very tasty smoky flavor to it. I can't wait to try it out this weekend on some meat and see how that turns out.

Great smoker charcoal

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I cook outside year round. We love using charcoal to bbq with. This Rockwood Lump Charcoal is different from our normal brand, and I was very excited about giving it a try. 
The shape of this coal is different, not all pieces are uniform in size. This isn't bad, but it made it hard to scoop out of the bag with my metal scooper. To heat up the pieces we used a charcoal chimney. They heated up fairly quickly, more quickly then other types I've used. So this was a plus, since I could start grilling sooner. 
The scent this charcoal gave off was different. I wasn't sure how much this would effect the taste of the meat. My husband used this charcoal on 4 different grilling occasions, each time with a different type of meat. We used it on: burgers, chicken, sausage, and bacon. The flavor on each was wonderful. The charcoal definitely gave a nice flavor to these meats. 
The product does state that it heats up at a higher temp and burns down faster, and my husband and I both noticed this. But, we really didn't have to use much charcoal with each grilling. So this bag should last us at least a couple more months.
I'm super interested in looking into more charcoal flavors from this Rockwood company. I would recommend giving this charcoal a go and have already told my family about it. I'm looking forward to using this for my next cook out again!

Easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The perfect addition for our bbq's and cold night fire pits while entertaining family and friends. Hooks right up to a small propane tank and starts right up. Easy to hook up and use. A big plus is being able to sear your meat with the torch. Makes meal time a definite better experience. Since we live in an area were we can control burn our weeds, we also tried that area and it's works for that as well.  The only downside we have found is the valve for controlling hi or low doesn't shut the fuel off completely. So for safety reasons we recommend unhooking the propane tank each time from the gun when not in use.

Simple but yet effective!

Amount of flame and hit that comes out of this thing is really ridiculous. It is like a jet engine in your hand. You can char some meats right on the counter but be careful and of course you can start your grill.
