When replacing our countertops I did not cover my angle stops/supply valves. Some construction dust must have collected in the valves and before I reconnected my faucet I didn't flush them out. Dirt collected in the coupler and there is just no way to clean it out. It is a backflow preventer as well as a flow restrictor so it is a pretty complicated small piece of equipment. I called Grohe and they said there really is no way to clean it out, but ordering a new one was easy. There are several different types but it was easy to identify which one I needed. It comes out and goes back in with no tools in just minutes. Once replaced my faucet was back to normal with good flow. I'm so glad that they had these couplers available.

After 20 years had to replace the part due to slight leakage.  New part installed and worked perfectly.

I was told that you do not ship to post office boxes and your web site does not allow a PO Box to be entered.  And then you ship the part by USPS which does not deliver to my street address and returns the package as undeliverable.

Replacement part

noticed a drop in water pressure, and when cleaning the faucet/sprayer screen didn't work; replaces the quick coupling. Worked like a charm; easy to change out with no mess.

Old flow restrictor got clogged after two years. Easy fix - one snap - one thread - done. Water runs like new.

Quick Connect Coupling With Flow Restriction

Purchased this replacement quick disconnect to modify it in an effort to improve water flow with my new faucet.  The quick disconnect does not disassemble.  I was advised by Grohe support to carefully drill out and remove the internal components.  Voila, that did the trick.  Water flow is now normal!

I give it only three stars due to the fact that this item is not made of brass as it should be. Given that fact , there is something you need to know about installation .  This part fits extremely tight on the end of the hose fitting. You definitely need to soak this coupling in hot water just prior to installing . Also , you need to use a little bit of thread sealant on the fitting going into the coupling. Order a spare !

Installation tip to keep from cracking coupling.

Every Grohe faucet with these quick connectors will develop a stress crack over time that causes a waterleak under the sink… ruining any products stored there and destroying the cabinetry … all because of poorly engineered/expensive  Grohe design that apparently hasn't changed in 20yrs. I'm sure you've had this feedback before … thank god you dont make aircraft equipment!

We had to purchase a replacement quick coupling because the original coupling supplied with the faucet cracked in the middle releasing water into the cabinet below the sink, this coupling made from molded plastic, is an inadequate design for the intended application.  Plastic is not suitable for a coupling that is put under bending stress each time the faucet wand and hose is extended
