Valve cartridge

Descriptions of these cartridges varies (product, cart, and packing list) and can be confusing when ordering the left (hot) or right (cold) cartridges. When ordering new cartridges for your Grohe faucets pay close attention to the part number by confirming what you are ordering in the Next Higher Assembly Installation Drawing (these are always available and appended to the products).   This was shared with customer service.

Cartridge Description Ambiguity

I didn't use this ceramic cartridge because it seems that the shower valves aren't made by Grohe after all.  So... this cartridge seems to be very well-made, and that's all I know.  The finish is clean and professional, the operation rotates smoothly by hand, and the manufacturer actually imprinted their name and identification mark on the unit (unlike the old valve that I ended up rebuilding).  I assume that it functions properly when liquid is routed through it, but I have no way of testing it.

The cartridge is excellent, however my costumer service experience was not good as I had to do my own research after calling for costumer support. I was asked for pictures, which I provided (of the cartridge itself with measurements and they asked for the handle) then I was told that based on the handle in the picture they knew it was not a GROHE cartridge. I told them that both, the shower and the sink were from GROHE since I had someone replace the shower cartridge and he had told me they were both from GROHE. Yet, this time I wanted to change it myself, I just had a question on the cartridge that I thought was the one. Costumer support just told me they could not help me because they did recognize a handle. End of the story, I had to YouTube and double check and yes it was a GROHE cold water, which I ordered and is working perfect. The cartridge is good but tech support, unfortunately for me, was not; the feeling I got after talking to tech support was that they didn't even want to try. I usually don't write reviews like this but I think it can serve as a good feedback to your company.

Costumer service

Works great, nothing to complain about. Its a 1/4 turn on/off rather than spins all the way around (which it replaced). You may want to get two hot sides to maintain the on/off direction of your old faucet if it has 'knobs' rather than levers

Nice cartridge

Make sure you buy correct handle cartridge. Labeled "Right" but is right turn not Right cartridge. Confusing. This is the second time I am replacing this cartridge in 3 years

Cartridge Review

The old cartridge is fused to the piece it sits on making this unworkable. AND there are no other replacement parts SO we have to purchase an entirely new faucet.

One of my faucet was leaking at the handle. I replaced the cartridge and it is not leaking anymore. The cartridge was very difficult to remove. It was just stuck and would not come out. Took lots of strength to remove.
