This product is poorly designed. The post's should be 4inchs and the base should be a minimum of 10 inches.

9 by 12 pergola.

The threaded bolt holes are partially filled with paint my neighbor lent me his tap and die set so I could clean the threads ready to put the bolts in place. Everything else went together very easy. Advertised dimensions are miss leading.

Assembly required

Although I am happy with the quality of this product, it was a pain to put up.  The instructions are horrible. Once up, though, I added some solar powered lights and it looks beautiful.

Good product, horrible instructions

Great product. It works perfectly. The instructions are not very clear so an additional effort was done to put all parts together. It has a design issue with the rain so I don't recommend it if you live in a rainy area.

I really enjoy the shade it provides but it's not very sturdy.  I've only had it for about 3 weeks and one of the rods broke while it was a little windy.  I'm concerned how long it's going to take me to replace it.

Two stars because it looks nice but it's poorly made. I'll be lucky if it lasts me this whole season. Not worth the money I paid for it. If you want a pergola then invest on a better one then this one. The small Metal pins keep popping out when you move the tarp, rainwater accumulates at the top then it leaks, the tarp gets stuck when moving it, and the decorated spokes at the ends of the metal on top are a hollowed out plastic that are going to fall out with the wind. 
As for the set up........I had to purchase additional bolts because the ones they supplied for the first few steps did not fit. Im definitely going to have make a few more tweaks to this pergola to make it last as long as possible.

Looks nice but........

Port quality screw holes don't line up result is stripped screws. Canopy support rods come loose with the slightest wind. Canopy useless in the rain.  Instructions are pictures only and they are so small you can't tell location of hotels in soppy legs. Got suited fro Canadian weather lakes

poor quality and lousy instructions

Absolutely terrible design. When it rains it pools on top and eventually sags down between supports. If you dont stay on top of it by pushing the water off every once in a while during a storm it bends the support bars and is now useless. They thought refunding half mu money was good enough. Extremely disappointed with hiw this turned out

Stay away

Cheap. It's more aluminum then metal. Some parts didnt go together flush.  The two sides where its suppose to clip on the poles doesn't stay there and is always going up the poles.  One screw went in but wasnt staying tight. I kept trying to tighten it but the hole must had been stripped prior to getting the item. 

I cant believe I spent that much on something so cheap.

Horrible

Frame didn't have proper pre-drilled holes to attach all necessary items. Quality of the bars connections also very poor, always falling apart. Very disappointed. :(
