Cozy attractive electric fireplace

While we were very pleased with the look of the electric fireplace insert ,we were very disappointed with it because it does not shut off automatically and we have to turn it off and on as needed. We did however contact the maker of the product and did recieve a partial refund ,which we did accept because we didn't want the hastle of sending it back.

Disappointed

The fireplace is ok but the remote doesn't work. Driven myself crazy testing batteries and finally accepted the darn thing does not work. Have to work from the unit itself. Will try to get a new remote but it's a 3rd party purchase with no info on contacting the seller. Will try through Walmart.

Remote doesn't work

Bit too small (not powerful to provide heat) and not safe to stand on its own. 
Width is not adequate and no stand. Aim is not to see multiple colors but to have economical source of needed heat.

Small and inadequate heat zone

Bought this item in September. Just installed an turned on for the first time yesterday because I'm slowly working on this old house of mine. Turned on, lights were pretty but started smelling something and realized smoke was coming up from the heater and fan was not turning. If I had walked away without noticing I may have been fighting a fire a little later. Checked the warranty and doesn't seem to be one past 60 days according to the current listing. Just utter junk, seems they are selling these under a slew of different names but all just the same junk.
