The surface was slick. We had to add carpet for traction.

We found this ramp to be too narrow, and too slippery despite the treads that we had to put on (supplied).  Although it was rated for 200 lbs, it didn't seem very sturdy for our 100 lb Bernese Mt dog.  If he hadn't scratched it trying to go up, I would have returned it.
