i chose this over a Shark because I had lots of batteries from other Hart products.  The little vacuum doesn't disappoint.  I keep it in my kitchen and use it many times a day to clean up disasters that my children cause.  i haven't used it for wet messes, but dry messes are no problem.

I use this every day.  It is the perfect hand vac. I have even used it on the floor for a quick lint/dog hair pick up.  
I will say the only thing I had to learn was that the debris holder release button is just under the power button. I released the debris holder a few times before I learned to go by touch of the raised power button instead of the release button that is depressed. It doesn't take long. Just practice a few times at a low level or on a soft area if it falls. 
Once you conquer that, IF you had the same problem,  it's a small complaint, the only one I have.
 It cleans with a powerful suction. It charges quickly. The Hart line has become my favorite household tool manufacturing company.  I have several pieces.  But back to the hand held.   It is light. It cleans easily. I use an old toothbrush to clean the debris on the inner filters cup and fanned interior. It cleans so easily I have not had to wash the filter and wait until the next day to dry.
There is also an area where you may need to use a toothpick to get debris out if it doesn't fall out from tapping.
An everyday cleaner is all that is needed to clean the interior/exterior during normal use.
As with all Hart tools, the battery has a button to push, located on the bottom back of the battery with 4 lights to tell you how much charge is remaining. 
I could go on with all the uses, but suffice it to say I am extremely pleased with my purchase.

love this little vac! I have a many animals that lounge on my couch and chairs. pet hair by the gazillions! keeps a really good charge, sucks up beautifully.

I was looking for a hand vac with a rechargable battery on the outside.  I like that the cup and filter are washable too. It is well made and works good. It is a useful tool and I would recommend.

Becoming a big fan of Hart products. Was skeptical buying this at first. Never had much luck with the handheld vacs I bought in the past. But this one is amazing, it has powerful suction that sucks up dog hair. Also, the other day I spilled garlic powder all over the counter, grabbed this little vac and it cleaned it in seconds, beats wiping up crumbs and dry spills!! Battery is light weight and holds a good charge. Easy to dump filter in a one two three snap!

Powerful handheld vacuum

I had been using a very low powered hand vacuum that had been slowly losing power. 
Eventually I decided it was time for a change. 
I ordered this vacuum and I am very pleased. 
It is powerful enough for what I need it for. 
I like that the dust cup is clear, it helps to determine when it is time to empty it out. 
It is loud and I find it more comfortable to use while using ear protection. 
It's been great to have a competent handheld vacuum!

Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase, but this thing is LOUD. it's the loudest hand vac I've used. that's my only con, and I think the pros outweigh the noise.

loud and powerful

The reviews were mixed, but I liked Hart products in the past, so purchased the hand vac. The design has some serious flaws, and they need to rethink placement of switches and weight. On/off switch is butted up to removal button for the canister…and the weight is just too heavy for a hand vac. Then the attachments aren't so well thought out either. Instructions were hard to navigate and on several papers…really Hart, get your act together.

This is a no for me

This handheld vacuum is just awful all around. The suction is poor right out of the box. Can barely suck up half of the things it needed to (if that). The battery life is awful, especially since the machine itself barely works. Find something else, this isn't worth it and is a major hassle to return.
