This is the best powder foundation on the market for oily or combo skin. It makes the skin look airbrushed and is long lasting. I have been re- 
purchasing since 2020 when the older formula was still being used. I enjoy the new formulation just as much as the old. I've tried other brands but I always come back to this one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried so many powder based foundations over the years on my mature skin. And so many of them look powdery or flaky on the skin. 
But HD SKIN MATT VELVET is smooth and lovely on the skin you can have a light to full coverage with this depending how you apply it, I go for a medium coverage and use the Big Powder Brush to apply and it's beautiful coverage. It keeps its color and doesn't oxidize at all, and it also has a waterproof element to it, so even if you're sweating it stays on, just tap tap your sweat and the foundation won't move. Love this product I even use a lighter color as under eye concealer.

The only makeup that covers my large pours, wrinkles and oily skin in a humid environment. I love this product!

Perfect for oily skin

I like that this is a powder foundation—it feels lightweight and natural. When it goes on evenly, the coverage is beautiful, but I haven't been able to achieve that consistently. It comes with a sponge, and I've found I get better coverage using that compared to a brush, which might just be due to my lack of experience with this type of makeup. Still, when I get it right, I love the finish. I'll definitely buy it again for those good coverage days.

When It's Good, It's Flawless

so much waste with these products, there needs to be a refill for the case. The case is currently designed to take a refill with an easy popout of the finished product

Need Refills

I am allergic to mica when it's a main ingredient, and apparently the synthetic form as well. This product irritated my skin and made my skin itch, almost pins and needles. and it left more of a sheen on my skin than the original matte formula. I liked the texture and coverage, but aside from the allergic reaction this is not matte and I got oily quickly.

original formulation was better for me

I've loved Makeup Forever since the 90s, but I'm disappointed with my recent purchase because the shade is way off. I wanted to choose the shade based on what i thought was the best match, but the shade finder insisted that it would be too light and even when i shared my current foundation brand and shade, it still matched me like 2 shades darker than my skin. It's so off, ai can't even wear it. Also, I feel the formulas have changed over the years

I've loved MakeUp Forever since the 90s

This is a great quality product, but t sadly the color is way off for the fair skin tones. I ordered the coolest, fairest shade they offer and it is still so yellow and too dark. So if you're darker complected and olive or warm toned then maybe? But it was way off for me, it's quite expensive too so that was even more disappointing.

MAKE UP FOR EVER

I used to use the old formula Y235 for a while. Got the new formula and it's just not as good. The coverage is medium at best. I've been digging into my old matte velvet powders for spot correction. I have dark spots all over my face. The old formula used to cover all of them. Did I buy it yes. Am I using it yes. Am I happy about it? Not really. I'm really bummed out I lost my holy grail. You know it!

Loved the Old Formula!

Tried to pick a color that was close to what I used in the other powder foundation and it was so dark it looked like a bronzer. Was sad to see they don't offer free returns.  Texted them on their online chat and was told someone would email me, because I just wanted to know what color I should choose in comparison to what I used to use....no one ever emailed me back.  Disappointed overall in this company and it makes me sad because I love the foundation....or loved the old one.
