I cleaned my white sofa, which I had thought was impossible to clean. The machine I used isn't a steamer, but it removes stains very well, and the sofa dries quickly.
I couldn't use it to clean the bathroom walls, but it works great for sofas and carpets. I also want to try it on car seats. I think it will work just as well as it did on the sofa.

Hoover just keeps getting better at these floor cleaners.  The Clean Slate XL is efficient and impressive enough that it has become a worry-free obsession for me. My new home came with off-white carpeting on much of the main floor. As a klutzy person, I was well aware that light carpets and I usually are not really compatible. When I purchased this machine, that was no longer the case. I still do my share of dropping, spilling, and knocking things over, but these days, there is no more worrying. Every mess ANYONE has made on our carpet has easily disappeared by this cleaner! It is a blessing for someone like me!  Thanks Hoover!

My Obsesson . . Disappeared!

*Disclaimer-NO ONE slept on this mattress! It was forgotten about in storage for years. I didn't have hopes it would do much for this but wanted to try my Cleanslate XL on a larger scale. To say I was shocked was an understatement. If these pictures don't convince you, I'm not sure what will!

Impressed!!!!

Haven't used the spot cleaner yet.  But if it's anything like the carpet shampooer.  I know it's going to get whatever I'm cleaning up.  Hoover is a great brand and have used for over 10 years.  Highly recommend.

Excellent brand

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a longtime rug shampoo owner. I picked up my first one at a thrift store years ago, and have replaced it several times. I have always wanted a Spot Cleaner machine, but never could quite pull the plug. I was delighted to receive a CleanSlate XL to test out, getting to see if my wishes could be granted. I have two large dogs and our house has light carpet. I deep-clean the rugs twice a year and until we can get new flooring, that works. With dogs come messes. One of our dogs threw up in our bedroom twice. Before I could drag the big shampooer upstairs, I went into labor and did not return to the second floor for two months. I was greeted by nicely set-in dog vomit stains. In my postpartum haze, and in a limited window I didn't have the energy to carry up the full-sized shampooer. Awesome. Fortunately, I had the CleanSlate XL. It was easy to fill with water and cleaner. It was very easy to carry up the stairs, even full of water it wasn't off balance. The directions are attached if needed. Super easy to use. Simple, self-explanatory. I loved the fact that I did not have to unwind the entire length of the power cord to use the machine. Multiple attachments to choose from, but I was in a hurry and didn't get to use them all. Spots were cleaned up well, and the water was extracted to leave the carpet lightly damp, but nothing that would make me worry about mold or damage to the subfloor. I was curious, so I tested it out on some stains on the "dog couch". The tools worked well and could reach almost every curve. I look forward to testing this in my car in the future. My only complaint is that the tools don't store on the machine. They do have a very nice storage bag with a hanger, so they were in the closet and easy to find. I had forgotten that part, so I had to go back downstairs. I also feel that having the tools stored on the machine would make it bigger, so I see why this is the design. Just something to keep in mind, the tools need to be stored separately. Overall, I am super pleased with the Spot Cleaner, and I feel as if I will be using it quite often.

Great Purchase

I bought this a month ago and used it for personal auto detailing for my vehicles. It has very strong suction power and isn't really as loud, and doesn't have a ringing sound like other vacuums have. The Clean Water tank is smaller than the Dirty Water tank. I had to add and empty the tanks at least 3 times for a deep cleaning with my 4-door Honda Accord. What I also love is the self-cleaning area for your hose. Everything else is easy to clean. I will say that the first time I used the vacuum, I opened the Clean water tank lid and it broke the first time (Picture #6). I haven't called yet for warranty since I'm new to this. So I recommend HOOVER to do something about the Clean water tank lid since it seems to be very good sealed, but you have to put a lot of force to open the lid, which caused it to break, since the lid holders do not seem to withstand a lot of pressure. Everything I have in the pictures was what I received along with the manuals and attachments, and a free "ONEPWR Dust Chaser Cordless Handheld Vacuum - Kit" gift since I bought the vacuum with the bundles.

Disappointing performance – lacks suction

I had high hopes for this spot cleaner, but it really underperformed. The suction power is quite weak, leaving the carpets much wetter than expected and failing to pull up even moderate stains. It's also much louder than it needs to be for the results it delivers. For an 'XL' model, I expected a more heavy-duty performance, but it feels like it just moves the mess around.
