Does a great job on smaller carpet areas. I spot spray stains and use plain water to wash and rinse most other areas as needed. The fresh water tank doesn't hold much and needs refilling often. The gray water tank needs emptying at the same time since it fills almost as quickly. Cleanup is not too bad. Be sure to completely air dry the tanks inside and out before storing.

So as I sat here realizing my carpets were in disarray and needing some extreme care I decided to do some research! I am not only a fur baby mom to 5 animals four dogs and a cat I am also a mom to a little girl whom "tries" to clean up messes on her own and we all can imagine how this could go, it went that bad. That was until I stumbled upon this product and bought it! It is everything I could have ever wanted in a product for my cleaning needs, not only did it get what our vacuum couldn't, it made my carpets even whiter than when we had moved in! I absolutely recommend to everyone. You may think you had a clean smelling home precious but when you realize that this machine eliminates even the fur debris that has traveled deep down to the roots of the carpet the smell of clean is taken to a whole new level! Thank you for creating such a fantastic product. I'm a forever fan! :)

Got this on sale for $88. The price point is perfect to get the job done . I did not have stains to begin with , just buildup on dirt from my dog . It is lightweight and easy to change out . My rug was starting to look beige and now its back to a white/gray! Looks great and Im very happy !

Good value

I live in a small apartment, have no pets, and have only 2large area rugs to clean. My 30 year old Electrolux shampooer just died. Now at 73 l need something smaller. This PowerDash is perfect. It's lightweight, compact, affordable yet powerful and so easy to use. I love it! Thank you Hoover for making this little powerhouse.

Compact, lightweight, powerful

This little carpet cleaner does an impressive job. I was skeptical at first  because it is  lightweight plastic and seemed flimsy but it cleans like a beast just as good if not better than the larger carpet cleaners. The tank is small and has to be refilled and dumped often. It is so easy to use that i did not mind that at all. I have 5 pets and I highly recommend this product. I am very satisfied with its performance and excellent price.

Great carpet cleaner

Who wants to schlep carpet cleaning equipment to our second floor office... Not us.. :-). We own and operate a carpet cleaning service . ...! This POWERDASH is soooo easy to operate.. Fill solution bottle with HOTTEST water you have, add cleaning agent. Any high end liquid laundry detergent will do. Just a small amount..! Work slowly... Make several passes wet, then several passes dry. Be gentle but firm with this machine.. 600 sq. ft. per hour. If your rugs are filthy, call a professional, then maintain rugs monthly with this POWERDASH.. P.S. you will fill and empty clean water and soiled water every 15-20 minutes, so get over it... Respectfully.

Traffic Areas 2nd Floor Unit no elevator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I owned the same cleaner, the electric cord was much longer the new one is much shorter. I ice the same wall outlet and was able to two rooms without changing to a different outlet, the new one I need to change outlets three times. Just to let you know. My wife said just put a lead cord on it and that way I don't have to change outlets.

Removed all stains from kids bedrooms and all pet scent and dirt from my downstairs area rug. Easy to operate, only fault is that you have to unscrew everything to remove the roller brush to clean at the end of cleaning session. I do recommend it as it gets the job done.

Great product!

THIS THING IS LOUD. I can only use it in short increments. I'm scared my neighbors are going to cause me to receive a noise complaint. If you have neighbors close by or are in an apartment...look elsewhere. I don't get why it has to be SO LOUD. I'm not kidding when I say this sounds like you are sawing wood with a VERY VERY dull blade mixed with a jet engine. I should have looked elsewhere when purchasing.

Probably a great product but  shame on you, Walmart.  You shipped me an item that was clearly already opened, and broke. The handle will not connect in the upright position. It keeps falling backwards. I stepped on the grey pedal to release it and it will not pop back up when you try to engage the handle into an upright position.  A butter knife under the pedal to push it up, works, but not going to keep doing that.  The unit also looked scratched and the items in the box were not in the plastic bags as a new unit would be.  Also out of stock now.  I contact Hoover directly and have a shipping label to return for a replacement.  Very disappointed in Walmart.  I don't trust ordering from them now. Hoover customer service was very quick on the phone, though they said they had high volume of calls.  Rep was friendly, quick and the return label came in email in less than 2 hours.  Good to know they stand behind their products.  Looking forward to receiving my new cleaner.
