[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked that I could still get the same computer that I bought 4 years ago. It needed to be the exact same because the Navy Veteran friend I bought it for has had a stroke and needed to not have a big learning curve on a new laptop.  The old one just like it lasted 4 years before the video card went out was good value as well. The screen size was also very good and fitting for his use.

Very pleased with this fast laptop. Easy to setup and use. Fast delivery from Walmart. The keyboard, while a good feel, is a bit hard to read. The characters are not dark enough against the silver keys. I use an extra keyboard anyway so it's not an issue.

I'm not a gamer so I wasn't looking for a Ryzen 7 with dedicated GPU. If you posted a bad review because it's not good at gaming that's on you. I purchased this laptop for general computing. Streaming, browsing and office applications. It's plenty fast enough for all of that even with multiple windows open. Good battery life. The ram can be upgraded to 32GB max if needed. Been using this for about a month now without regrets. For $399.00 by far and wide the best value out there right now. I was using a 5 year old Chromebook and looking to buy another. Google stopped updating it and the battery stopped charging. To get anything appreciable your going to spend the same or more than this HP laptop. No comparison to even the most expensive Chromebook. If your reviewing laptops and this is one of them look no farther. You won't be sorry!!!

Great customer support

I bought this laptop for $399 on a Black Friday special.   For the price, this laptop is amazing!    Super fast has Windows 11 preloaded and the display looks really nice.    For a budget computer, you cannot beat it for the price.    My only criticism of this laptop is that the letters on the keyboard aren't backlit and kind of hard to read in low light.   My keyboard is silver in color with black lettering (which looks neat but makes the letters hard to read) but otherwise the keyboard keys feel pretty decent to use.

Very, very nice laptop for the price I paid ($399)

The HP computer is great.  However, the delivery was not.  The delivery lady was nice but the store sent the computer with the electronic security band still on it. Delivery told me I would need to take it to the store to have it removed.  Such is life...

Pros: value, price, functionality, performance (Ryzen CPU), dual-channel RAM, no overheating.
Cons: bloatware (spent 30 minutes removing it), no backlit keyboard, small RAM, small SSD.
Conclusion: I improved it installing 16 GB (8GBx2) RAM, this laptop can be used even for casual gaming (quite modern games can run on low settings).

Very good laptop for its price!

TLDR: W11 pre installed, Okay performance, Bad Screen, questionable build quality, horrendous speakers, and Invasive bloatware.
Not much value at this price. Didnt go into this laptop with high expectations. Cinebench multicore score was 5968(bottom 8%). Pretty respectable. However, the actual build quality of the laptop is horrible. Everything is made from fragile plastics. The keyboard feels like a $5 keyboard from Ali express. The TN panels struggles with color accuracy and contrast. And finally, what made me end up returning this: The bloatware. You're gonna spend 3 hours uninstalling Mcafee, along with everything else that comes with it, like the internet security suite, and an installer that automatically installs a browser plugin even after Mcaffee is removed. The 7.3GB of ram with W11 is unusable. Dont expect to do anything other than a few chrome pages at once. Youtube even struggled at times with nothing going on. Oh, the speakers are worse than the ONN $10 Bluetooth speakers lol. Now with all that being said, 16gb of ram and a clean install image would make this laptop acceptable. But only if it was no more than $399. Wait for a sale.

Invasive Bloatware, W11, Bad Build Quality. Avoid!

Awful, slow, cheap material flimsy laptop. the wifi is terrible if you put airplane mode and turn it off it wont connect anymore you have to either restart the laptop or turn on and off the wifi lots of times until it decides to connect again.

Slow, poor quality laptop

This laptop was a great deal and for price and performance definitely 5 stars.  However, battery life makes this laptop unusable unless it is kept plugged in.  Unpacked laptop and plugged in to let charge to full.  Setup Windows 11 and then unplugged laptop.  Just browsing web, battery went down to 20% in 1 hour.  Plugged back in and charged full charge again.  Had video medical appointment today and battery went down to 27% after 20 minutes.  The battery life renders this useless unless it is kept plugged in.  Ryzen 5 laptops are known for their energy efficiency and battery life.  This laptop has the shortest battery life of all the other Ryzen laptops on the market right now.  HP cut corners to lower the cost but they made a bad decision when it came to putting a useless battery in the laptop
