I got this new one to replace the previous one by Hooever from 20 years ago. I am very happy that the new one has improved a lot: easier to use, weighs less and costs less.  The materials used for the older one seems sturdier.  I hope this new one lasts as long. Thank you!

I have owned a few different carpet cleaners over the years, each only making it about a year or so. I purchased this one four years ago, and it's still going strong. All of its accessories still work too! I would highly suggest trying this product out if you're in the market for a new one. I love that it does its job very well, that it is easy to use the accessories, and that it is light weight. The wheels are a little larger too, making it easier to move around

Best carpet cleaner I've ever owned

During all the time at home recently, I decided to clean my own carpets throughout the house. Our carpets were cleaned a year ago by a commercial cleaning company. This time, the 12 year old carpets came out much cleaner and I could do them at my own pace.

Very easy to use and very effective cleaning carpet.

The Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe Carpet Cleaner is the best carpet cleaner I have ever owned! I have had other carpet cleaners in the past and believe me this cleaner tops all others. My carpet has never been this clean ever! It's so easy to use which makes me really happy. I truly recommend this product!

Best Carpet Cleaner Ever!

I've had several carpet cleaners over the years, and many had poor designs where parts would easily break off or just fall apart. This new modular design makes it easy to completely clean the unit after use. As for cleaning quality, it has great suction and power. Always vacuum first, use water only on the first pass as you would when you wash your car by wetting it down first, then use cleaning solution after spot treatments if needed, then rinse with cold water at least once, then go back over it to pull out any remaining moisture to speed drying. Place pieces of aluminum foil under furniture legs to prevent damage to the furniture and the wet carpet. I also use this unit for my tile floors and my vehicles. If I had something negative to say about this cleaner, it would be that it doesn't do all the work for me while I watch. Perhaps a future feature?

Finally a design that is perfect!

I only used this Hoover carpet cleaner once.  I had to install the handle which took a couple of screws to secure it.  It is similar to my older model. However, this one has 2 compartments for the clean water.  One side has the water with soap, and the other side has the rinse water.   Overall it works well, but this one as with any other hoover cleaner I have used, seems to leave the carpet more wet than I desire.   I need to use box fans to blow air over the carpet areas that I cleaned.

Worked great the first time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have the older model Cleaner and purchased this newer model. The Newer model is lighter due to the redesign and does move more freely when using. The newer model has both water and cleaner compartments which is an improvement. The only let down is that the older model cleaner had the benefit of the hose and detachments stored on the unit where the newer model has to store these in a bag that can hang on the unit or put somewhere else giving the possibility of misplacing it. In this respect the older model is much better. I like both units and the newer model is a little easier to use.

Power Scrub Deluxe Carpet Cleaner Review

Pro - great cleaner. I have a high child and two dogs, so my carpets take a lot of abuse. This is my second Hoover, and I won't go back to any other brand again. These types of brushes provide a much better clean than the traditional roll-based system. That said, I took off two stars because there is no difference whatsoever between the “wash” and “rinse” functions. I thought I was just getting water into an area that had a lot of old soap build up, but I wasn't. It was also pulling solution, even in the rinse setting. I'm disappointed because that seemed like a cool feature, but ultimately, it doesn't affect the effectiveness of the clean, which I care about the most.

Buy it for the clean, not the bells and whistles

Machine works okay, but more labor intensive when rinsing carpets after washing than i anticipated.  The water/ soap container is also tricky to install after filling.

Not up to par with other Hoover carpet cleaners

The hand tool has never worked well, but at least it worked. Now after only a year, it won't spray, the trigger sticks, solution dribbles out and it's fully non-useful. It's disappointing that this newer machine is about 1/3 as functional as our old machine.
