Design

I bought this to replace a higher end stainless cordless kettle that was only 2 years old.  I love this kettle, it looks expensive, easy to fill.  The lid actually tilts backwards once you release the top.  The screen is plastic and seems to be one piece, so I don't have to worry about it falling out.  The auto shut off is a nice feature when I am busy and forget I was going to have a cup of tea!  It is easy to clean and the cord is a bit longer than my other one.

Looks and performs great!

After exhaustive online research, I bought this kettle because it seemed to have the least number of poor reviews. So far I'm glad I did. Here are some features it has that aren't mentioned elsewhere: 
1. This kettle is available in both white and black; I myself got it in white (Model 41011C). 2. The electrical cord is a fantastic 24 in. long, which means I can place it far enough away from my kitchen cabinets, that the steam won't ruin their finish. Compare that to many other kettles with 12 or even 6 inch cords! (Note to absolute newbies: the kettle itself is cordless; it is the base which is plugged in.)
3. The spout is normally designed, and gives no problems pouring...no dribbles.
4. Unfortunately, there is a water-level window on only one side of the kettle. That may be an inconvenience for lefties. But it's still better than stainless steel kettles, which have no windows.
5. Longevity I cannot speak for, as I have only had this kettle for a month. However, It has a 5-year warranty, unlike virtually every other kettle I saw out there with 1-year warranties.

So, all in all, it seems like a promising kettle with a decent design. Fingers crossed that we'll grow old together now!

A Promising Kettle with Sensible Features

It makes the water boil, and it is very quiet.  I have only had it for 2 weeks, but so far so good.

The kettle is great. The water heats up fast and the cordless kettle is convenient. My only problem is that after making my hot drink, the water seems to cool down quicker or maybe I just need to drink it faster.

Pleasing aesthetics, however the walls of the kettle are thin making for a very loud boiling of water. Like, loud rolling boil.

I had this kettle for just over one year and  it stopped working.   The switch will not stay in the on position.   The kettle comes with a five year warranty but emails to Hamilton Beach are not answered and the 800 telephone number gives a recorded message that hangs up.   While the kettle worked it was ok  but Hamilton Beach  customer support seems unresponsive .

Died after 1 year

The kettle I received didn't fit properly on its base and had to be returned. I've owned this kettle before and it worked well, but it's obviously cheaply made.
