I have never crock potted in my life, and now I can't be stopped. I wake up thinking about what to slow cook next. Sometimes I stare at my crock pot the way poets once stared at the moon. I've considered buying a second one… maybe three… but my fridge and freezer are already crying for mercy.

I've started feeding my neighbors, the mailman, and possibly a few stray cats just so I can justify making another batch of something tender, juicy, and life-altering. My house smells like a five-star restaurant, and my sense of control has evaporated on low heat.

10/10 would recommend. Crock responsibly, friends.

I liked the size of it, I would prepare a week worth of lunches for work and it could handle all of it compared to my 6 quart one. Unfortunately, I was only able to use it once or twice until a house fire took it from me while I was at work.

5-6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts(normal or thin sliced), low sodium chicken broth, 3 heart healthy cream of chicken soup 22.5oz cans, 3 boxes of chicken stuffing, add more broth and water for stuffing, cook on low for 7 hours. delicious.

I have a 6 quart Hamilton Beach slow cooker but found that I needed to empty it into containers so I could make a second batch, to have lunch for the two of us all week. With this size, I only have to prep once. This slow cooker is well made and works as it should. I read in other reviews that some are bothered by the lack of an indicator light. I get it. It's nice to have but for me, not a dealbreaker. Other reviews mentioned the lid not being very tight. I find that the lid fits exactly as it should. Still others mention that it is technically not 10 quart. It may not be, but it is substantially larger than my current one, and again, being slightly less than 10 quarts, not a dealbreaker for me. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase, especially for this price, and have used it several times already. Hamilton Breach is a quality brand. I had my smaller one for almost 15 years now and anticipate this one working just as well.

Large capacity, great value and quality

This slow cooker is huge which is exactly what I needed to make my dog's food.   It fits two 6lb chickens and water.  I cook them overnight, remove them in the morning, add veggies and rice, cook, add back the shredded chicken and then portion to smaller containers.

Would buy again

I was looking for a large crock pot, without all the annoying bells and whistles that I never use. It's just one button with Off, Low, High and Warm. Perfect!
This is ideal for braising large amounts of meats, for large parties.
But I don't recommend just having this one crock pot, as sometimes you may want to cook less food and I think that this pot has a minimum fill capacity. So I also have a smaller (4.5 qt) Crock Pot (from Crock Pot) for those situations. Interestingly, both lids are interchangeable.

I can say that the Hamilton Beach crock pot is much better built than my slow cooker from Crock Pot. The Crock Pot brand's quality has gone down over the decades, so it's nice to see that Hamilton Beach's quality hasn't followed suit.

A well-built crock pot for larger parties.

This thing is HUGE! Needed the biggest one to make an 8lb turkey breast.  The lid just closed. (I do wish the lid had clips on the side to secure it closed).  Had it on low for 8 hours.  The breast was falling off the bone.   Will be using this one time a year for that specifically.   Perfect for holidays and big parties.  No bells or whistles but can't beat the price!!!  Happy I bought it.

Big Daddy of Slow Cookers!

Nice and big. Works well so far, only used it twice. Feels much more cheaply made than my old one though. I don't know how long the foldable handles will last. I don't understand the reasoning for them to fold up, they feel very cheap and fold up too easily which is kind of annoying.

I can not recommend this item if you are used to a true slow cooker. If you want things done in half the time then don't think you can go to work and come back to a just right dinner. It will have been done hours ago and now over cooked.  It's just a personal preference. If you want things done fast, then you will be fine.

Done too soon for me

This slow cooker does not have an indicator light to show that it's on.

I would give it 5 stars if it had a light.  Biggest slow cooker that I've ever seen. it's taller than my old and smaller crock pot.  

It also has folding handles.  I'm not sure why Hamilton decided to do that and I'm not sure if I like that feature. 

Why no indicator light? I just don't understand this at all.

No indicator light to tell if the cooker is on!

The initial cook is fine, but it burns soup in it on low even with intermittent stirring and water addition. Not possible to leave food in here for any duration without it getting inedible fast, which is the main use of a crock pot. Tried 4-5 times and had the same issue every time.
Also feels very cheap, flimsy knob without so much as a confirmation light to show that it's on (despite the instruction manual saying there was one) -- so you have to just feel if the sides are hot or not to figure out if it's on and working properly. 
Bought this for the size but just not worth it, I will be returning and getting one from a more reputable brand.

Alright cooker, poor crock pot.
