Count down timer-plus, big plus-I initially did not want this big of a crockpot but I have the rm., and I wanted the count down timer which few have. Directions do say to not do frozen food, not sure, I am cooking ribeye and pork steaks today but-will cook brown beans next, super simple set up, I did use liners which I will include that I got 10 liners for around 5 dollars from amazon recommended by another user and they fit perfectly for super simple clean up since no dishwasher. I love hamilton beach products, I would count this a winner thus far. You can program warm, low or high and your time is in increments of 30min., it lets you pick the temp. it does not revert to one based on others say 4-6hrs. it put on high this crockpot does not do that, you pick the temp., you pick the time, I also love the count down to give you an idea, it will revert to warm after finished cooking. Love it! I've been using slow cookers for just about 30 years now and this one has some features that I really like.

First of all, the cord comes out from the side of the base, not the very bottom. This is important to me because I've had a couple of them get frayed (one shorted out and left a burn mark on my counter) at the point where the cord had to bend toward the side.  Having the cord come straight out the side is a much better design. I will try to attach photos to show the difference.

Secondly, the timer is great. I love that I can choose high or low temp and then the exact time that I want. My previous one just had some presets, high for 4 or 6 hours, and low for 8 or 10 hours. A few of the things that I make all the time need to cook on low for 6 hours, so I always had to set it for 8 but then set an alarm on my phone for 6 hours. And I couldn't switch it to keep warm then.  I also appreciate the countdown timer, so I can see at a glance how much longer it has. Even when I used the preset times on my old one, I ended up setting an alarm so I would know when it was supposed to be done.

I bought this for an annual family St Patricks day dinner corned beef dinner.  I got it two days before and tested it with a ham %26 bean soup to better know how hot it cooks. It was perfect.  Soup cooked exactly to directions! Not too hot which has been the issue with the last 3 crock pots I've had. The corned beef dinner was excellent-it was done early due to me turning it to high for an hour when I added the potatoes and carrots. I thought it would need to cook faster to be done at a certain time.  If I had left it alone it would have been done right on time!  The size of this crock pot is awesome!  It fit two corned beefs, about 7 quartered small to medium potatoes and 5 cut up carrots with a bit of room to spare.  Just what I was looking for, for a family meal or a large pork shoulder for pulled pork. It also seems much more solidly made that my other crock pots!

Great size!  Correct temperatures!

Easy to place order, arrived quickly, well-packaged without excessive packaging.  Ive used this slow cooker twice and it worked as expected.  Im glad I chose this larger sized slow cooker.  Its actually just under 8 qts.  Perfect size for a roast, turkey breast or whole chicken.  Crock is very heavy.   Hamilton Beach brand received best ratings for performance among this price range in my review search.

(Almost) Eight Quart Slow Cooker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Price is not bad for a crockpot that has a timer and automatically goes to warm after the timer stops.

Bought this as a Christmas gift. Can't review it , as far as how it works, but Walmart customer service was great. Item arrived  fast, without any problem.

This Hamilton Beach 8 Quart Programmable Slow Cooker is the best that I've ever used and I've used a few over my 60+ years. Perfect in size, features and cost.

Perfect in all features

I have been using Crock Pot's for years, at least twice a week and it was time to renew.  My last 2 were 7 quarts and at times was almost too small for some of the foods I would cook, so when I saw the Hamilton Beach 8 quart, I figured I'd give it a try. It was shipped in 2 days with no issues. I've only used it was so far (it's still new) with a meal I fix on a regular basis. All 7 pieces of chicken tenderloins fit without rubbing or stacking and the rice mixture spread out really nice. This Hamilton Beach did a better job in the same time interval than my previous pots. My first run with this pot has me feeling really good about it's future use and the way it's made, I think I'm going to get my money's worth and then some.

It is an excellent addition to my kitchen. Plenty of room for a nice roast and veggies as well. Ive used it twice already since I got it less than a week ago!!

I love my new slow cooker. Used it last night for the first time it's very simple to use self-explanatory.
I have a feeling it might get a little hotter than I thought even at low, because my Hawaiian chicken was a little dry, but my husband didn't complain. 
I'll see how it goes with other foods that I cook. But I love the huge size.

When you turn it to off without unplugging it it didn't turn off and causes the bc pod to burn. Defective.
