Planetary mixing action means the mixing head orbits around the bowl as the beater rotates in the opposite direction for thorough, hands-free mixing of ingredients. I have only used it once to make a cake that takes a very strong mixer and it did the job very. I can barely use my hands so this stand mixer was the best suited for my needs on the reviews I read on other mixers. I am well pleased and would recommend it to anyone..

I received this mixer a week and a half ago, and have used it many times since, and I am overwhelmed at the power and ease of use the mixer provides, it has made many family recipes come alive, with half the effort, the mixing bowl locks down to the base, and the handy pouring spout make it a breeze to add ingredients, more than adequate power, I purchased the sterling silver color, which is really a brushed metal finish, with a clear coat finish over that to keep its appearance fresh, it comes with mixing blade, dough hook and whisk, the arm rotates around the whole bowl, so no scraping necessary, for any real baker this one will answer any recipe you have, with and astounding yes, yes, yes. A great mixer, and I'm so glad to have it. Thank You Walmart.

Better than expected

I made banana bread, also oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. The stainless steel bowl is very lightweight. Handy handle. I love how it sits down in the base and turns to lock in. The splatter shield kept everything in the bowl along with the pouring spout made adding ingredients very slick. Love Love Love the red. Quiet, powerful, beautiful. "Just like me" said my husband. I think his sweet talk is a ploy for more treats.

Outstanding value

I got this product for my birthday. I absolutely love it in everyway. It was delivered on time, and the product was packaged securely. No damages. The one I wanted was from kitchen aid company, but when I got this one, I would not trade. It came with everything on the picture. Its all metal, which makes it more durable. The price is great if one is on a budget. My husband picked an amazing product. Just love it. Oh and it comes with a recipe book. I would recommend this product, defiantly!

Amazing product!

I've had this mixer for just a couple of weeks and so far I'm loving it. I've made cookies twice, using the paddle; made cinnamon buns with the dough hook (kneaded for 6 minutes); and I whipped cream using the whisk. The mixer handled everything with ease. This mixer has a heavy, solid feel and impressive power. All this for a very reasonable price. I wish I'd bought it sooner.

Loving this mixer

Just got my new mixer and have only used it once so still getting used to it at this point. I love the silver color and the simplicity of operation of the mixer. Not so complicated that it is difficult to use. I mixed up a stiff batch of cookies and it seemed to handle it with ease. Will take some time and use to really determine if it has enough power for different textures but it seemed to be right up there with higher priced models which I can't afford to buy.
Color choice was nice and three year warranty also appreciated. Hope I don't ever have to use it.
I had a Hamilton Beach mixer 50 years ago when I was first married and I loved it so I hope I feel the same way about this product.

Great mixer for budget minded buyers

I'm not a baker by any means but I wanted a mixer. I really love this but the one drawback is that it is SO HEAVY. In hindsight, I would of ordered the white one because the black gets very noticeably dirty. (Or I'm just not very careful with ingredients.) I would recommend but only 4 stars because of the weight.

Love the mixer but...

Great mixer, reliable. My mother had a Hamilton Beach mixer for years with no problems. Beautiful red color and style is pleasing to the eye. Price was reasonable. If you are just wanting a good basic mixer and not wanting all the other attachments such as pasta maker, sausage grinder, etc. then this is a great buy.

Great mixer for starting baking/cooking business

The stand mixer is wonderful :D I can't say enough good things about it. I have had it for 2 days and I am in love,but the getting it here is another story altogether. When the box came,it was opened and folded back shut and that was the bottom of the box. I don't know if someone got lazy at shipping or if UPS just goes through people's boxes during this season,but I was appalled. better to go to the store and know your merchandise has not been pawed over by someone else.

Great Product,HORRIBLE Shipping

I've had Hamilton Beach products before and was always very pleased with them. I really had high hopes for this mixer as an alternative to the other very expensive brand. I ordered the silver and it was absolutely beautiful! I was so excited and couldn't wait to use it. I did oatmeal raisin cookies, a thick and stiff dough, and the minute I started adding the oatmeal the mixer started making a horrible grinding noise. Nope! I was afraid to push it any further. I returned it. I don't know, perhaps I had a lemon.
