I love this product!  I make 10 breakfast sandwiches every Sunday for my husband and I to eat during our work week.  It takes me 50 minutes each Sunday and they're delicious.  I am even saving us $ from not stopping at WaWa on the way to work :-)  Great product once you get the hand of using it (it took me a few mess ups, but now I got the hang of it!).

I absolutely love this little sandwich maker! As a matter of fact Im eating one as I write this review. You can add your own fixins just be careful of an overload. Makes a delicious breakfast sandwich in under 5 minutes! Clean up is a breeze due to the nonstick cooking surfaces. Great value!

Thumbs up for this little sandwich maker!

Makes a great low-fat b'fast you can grab and go. 
Use lacey swiss or other low-fat cheese if fat is an issue for you. Lean ham, Canadian bacon, or turkey (or vegetarian) bacon; then use egg substitute or mixture of half egg, half egg whites.
This is a lighter, cheaper and tasty alternative to the fast food egg hockey pucks. 
Use just half an English muffin, works fine without a 'top.' Eggs puff up souffle-style, it's yummy. Fast too, make up b'fast while coffee brews.
Use pancakes, pita bread or naan bread. Or use slightly stale French or Italian bread - cooks up just fine. 
Excellent product. Kid-friendly and fun when you have overnite guests or slumber party (and faster than pancakes.)
Good quality, washes in a flash, doesn't take up much  counter space. 
Recommend. Not a gimmick, your family will use and enjoy this simple device.

Fun quick breakfast

We have been eating breakfast sandwiches like crazy bc of this machine! Super easy and quick to make sandwiches and a breeze to clean. We like our sandwiches open-faced, so I omit the top bun and put the cheese on after I remove the rest of the sandwich from the maker.

Wow! Awesome little gadget!

It is a novelty item. It serves its purpose just fine but doesn't do anything better than a stovetop. It looks cool and works great. I used it for about 2 weeks and then went back to frying my eggs and making my breakfast sandwiches the old-fashioned way (faster and less messy).
I put this in the corner of my kitchen and people always ask about it because it looks "futuristic and sleek". It certainly has that going for it.

Novelty Item

The sandwich maker worked perfectly the first two times i used it. The next two times, the raw egg leaked out all over the lower level and onto my counter. The egg did not cook and all the ingredients were ruined. I am going to try it one more time and if it fails again, I'm taking it to my local Walmart for a full refund.

Performance of the sandwich maker

Very disappointed in performance. I have followed all instructions and recommendations and the bread (top and bottom) always burns. It starts to burn within first minute of cooking. If you let sandwich cook for only 4 minutes, egg is runny and undercooked. If you let it cook 5 minutes, then egg is cooked but bread is completely burnt and cheese is melted away to nothing. The design is difficult. The ring is always falling out of the hinge everytime you lift one of the handles. The design makes it so that all layers have to cook at the same time, otherwise I would start the egg cooking a minute before the other layers, but if you lift the ring, the egg will spill out. Gave this as a gift and now I regret it.

Burns bread

I bought this for white elephant gift and ended up getting it. I wish I chose the mug because this is useless. I never write bad reviews because I'm easy to please and a positive person. But don't waste your money on this. Bagels don't fit, but because it said you could use bagels, I squeezed it in and tried anyway. You have to cut bread to fit (Maybe English Muffins fit but not trying).  Anyway, very messy process, bagel burned and egg was raw. I ended up scrapping them and making new sandwiches old school way. Very disappointing for Hamilton Beach product.
