I was surprised by this toaster given the low price.  The handiest feature is the release bar below the push down lever.  This allows you to check your toast or bagels just in case you're wondering how they're toasting.  Like the cool touch exterior.

I recently purchased this toaster, and I have no complaints. It does what its supposed to do. Toast! Lol. Ive really been using it to toast bagels and they have been coming out marvelous, and just right on the right setting. Not too big or small, fits just right in my kitchen. Couldnt be happier with my purchase. If youre looking for a nice toaster that toast bread or bagels to perfection, look no further. The slots are also a really nice size.

DONT YOU JUST LOVE IT WHEN YOU BUY A HIGH END ITEM AND ITS JUNK...THEN YOU GET A SUPER LOW PRICED ITEM AND ITS THE BEST THING ON EARTH....WELL THAT GOES FOR THIS TOASTER....SUPER FAST TOASTING....BUT THE BEST TOAST EVER...IT TOAST THE ENTIRE BREAD PERFECT....NOT BURNT AND UNEVEN TOASTING...THIS PRODUCT BLOWS ME AWAY....MAKES ME MAD THAT MY 50.00 PLUS DOLLAR TOASTER CANT EVEN COME CLOSE TO COMPARE TO THE QUALITY AND SELECTION OF THIS TOASTER....URGHHHH....BUT I GUESS A LESSONED LEARNED....SO LOOK NO FURTHER....THIS IS THE TOASTER THAT WONT STEER YOU WRONG....A MUST HAVE ITEM....!!!!!

I shopped on line, and this Hamilton Beach 2-slice toaster seemed the best buy in its price range. After a few week's use it has held up well, and seems to function adequately. It replaced a considerably more expensive toaster . . . which had broken.

Adequate and Inexpensive

It is very affordable and it works great. The only thing is the buttons seem kinda flimsy but you get what you paid for. I do not use the toaster often but used it a few times and works great.

Works great

This toaster works fine to toast bagels or bread. But it takes the highest setting to get a "normal" light brown toast and one person in the house goes through 2 cycles to get the dark toast they want.  It is very light, almost like tinfoil; it moves around so easily with the lightest touch--something that I never thought was important in a toaster until I had to hold the toaster down in order to press the lever. So, works as intended but could be too annoying for some.

Fine for most people

We bought a sweeper, and needed to add something cheap to get free shipping.  Hadn't had a toaster in about 30 years.

We have a good toaster oven, but it takes about 10 minutes to make toast.  Also it has a timer rather than a set spot for toasting level.  So you have to continually watch it, because setting the timer isn't as accurate.

This is what it is.  It doesn't have a bell to alert you, and it doesn't pop up with force, but it works and toasts well.  The dark setting can be set once and forgotten about, and it uses far less electric than our larger toaster oven.  It's very light.  DK about the quality, but it looks good and works.  For the price you really can't go wrong.

i have to put one sideways and then flip it over and toast the other side after one side is done.

too small

This toaster is beautiful and has the looks I like in a toaster....it worked real well for  about a week ..... then the toast was to light, so I turned it up 1 number....then the top of the bread was almost burnt and the bottom was to light.  I turned it on and looked down inside and most of the elements were not lit.
taking it back, not sure if I will go for the same kind!!  Since I like the looks I might give it another try!!

disappointed

We were very excited to have a new toaster. Our old one has been out of working order for a long time now. We unpacked it read the instructions and plugged it in, put two slices of bread into the toaster. One side toasted, but, the other didn't. The middle toasting unit did not work. We tried again, same thing happened. We returned it to a Walmart Store nearby and replaced it with another just like it. Got it home, plugged it in, put the bread in it and the same thing happened. One side toasted the other didn't. This time, however, the center part of the toaster worked and the outside did not. I would have loved it if it would have worked properly.
