My old toaster that I had had for 15 years finally broke down and actually I'm kind of glad because this Hamilton Beach one is so cute and it worked so well. I hope this one lasts for 15 years too thank you.

I purchased this toaster because it was advertised to be cool to the touch. The toaster is cool during and after toasting. It works very good. The design is sleek and moder, and price was affordable. I am happy with my purchase and do recommend it, especially if you have young children.

Cool To The Touch

I like this toaster because the pan bread we eat,  fits in the slots perfectly.  I don't have to tear off the crusts to make it fit.  It doesn't toast evenly on both sides, but that isn't a new issue with toasters, it would seem.  I have tried 3 different brands in the last few years and they all appeared to have the same problem.

This is a bare bones toaster.  Nothing fancy. It's light weight. The first time I used it, it smell like something was burning.  The second time it was fine, maybe breaking it in. I bought it for my rv so I don't have to take my home toaster. It you want one for a family I would spend more money.

Bare bones

Bad design.  Doesn't toast both sides evenly.  Crumbs fall out of the bottom vents.  The release button and dial numbers are hard to see.  Try another one.

Not great.

Got it and plugged it in to test. Pushed plunger down, popped back up, down, up over and over. Would not stay down no matter how hard I tried. Took back. Yes it was plugged in, yes the heaters worked when I held it down. Bought another brand, works fine.

Defective

So tired of wasting $$$ on crap.  Hamilton Beach, a name that once stood for quality, is now producing junk.  This toaster has no heft, no weight, just cheaply thrown together.  Both slots toast dark on one side and almost untoasted on the other.  The only good parts are the bottom that opens up to get rid of crumbs and there's a nifty Cancel button but that's not enough to make this worth the cost.  I did spend a couple of extra bucks on a warranty but why bother?  I'd probably end up with another that's just as bad if not worse.

2-APPERANCE: LOOKS CHEAP
3-BREAD: DOES NOT TOAST EVENLY
4-FOR BAGELS: THIS TOASTER CANNOT EVEN TOAST AN ENGLISH MUFFIN SO I KNOW IT WILL NOT OPEN WIDE ENOUGH TO TOAST A BAGEL
5- SIDES GET VERY HOT

I usually DO NOT write reviews but this toaster is horrible. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY on it. and Hamilton Beach will not answer your calls via recording.

Bad Toaster

This toaster model 22623 is awful. It doesn't toast equally on both sides, not all the elements heat and even at the highest settling it takes twice before it is toasted. Bought it because it was from Hamilton Beach, a name I respected, and because it is red. What a mistake.

Awful toaster

First toaster would not keep toast down. Second toaster's 2 of 4 heating elements did not work, leaving the bread toasted on one side and soggy on the other side. These Hamilton Beach toasters are cheap junk made in China, while this Virginia corporation sits back and makes a fortune! Do not buy.

2 Strikes and Out With It !
