Solid without being too heavy. Big iron face to minimize ironing time. Multiple temperature settings for different fabrics and the steam features are excellent. Easy to navigate push button controls. Large water reservoir and easy to clean and doesn't leak. Heats up very quickly .
The only drawback that I've found is the retractable cord doesn't actually recoil very well so I don't see it as a handy feature.

Excellent iron for your shirts, jeans or scrubs

If you like a heavier weight iron that heats up in seconds and handles deep wrinkles in cotton clothing then this iron is meant for you. I had my grandmothers old Hamilton Beech iron that I was using that she used to starch press my grandfathers overalls and it stopped spraying water and steaming. It was the model 14505 and it was an older iron. I was afraid I would not find another iron like it with heavier weight but this is it. I'm beyond pleased with this iron and the retractable cord is a pleasant addition. I highly recommend this iron to those who like a heavier iron like I do but if your looking for light weight this is not for you

Love this iron

I am beyond impressed with this Hamilton Beach Durathon iron. It has a nice weight to it that makes pressing out deep wrinkles effortless, and the soleplate glides over every fabric I've tried without any sticking or dragging. The steam output is surprisingly powerful, it even works vertically for a quick touch-up on hanging clothes. It heats up incredibly fast and feels much higher quality than other irons in this price range. If you're looking for a reliable, heavy-duty iron that actually gets the job done, this is the one to get. Highly recommend!

Best iron

Before this iron, I always spent extra money for an iron 3 to 4 times the price. I have found this iron to be excellent quality and easy to use. The indicator LED screen where you set the temperature is a bit small but there is no way for them to build in a 4 inch screen. Have to be realistic.

Durable quality iron

The water reservoir for the steam is twice as big as my previous iron. The steam feature is awesome and the tip at the front has great precision. The retractable cord is a plus. My previous iron broke after 25 years. I was sad to see it go but this new iron is fantastic hoping to have it 25 years as well.

Great iron for the price.

This has to be the BEST Iron I've ever used…. And I've used a lot of irons in my day. In fact it was my chore to iron the family clothes. This Iron is easy to use, the heating element heats up quickly, the retractable cord is nice, the digital menu is a nice touch, and the smoothness of the Iron on your clothes is amazing.

Best Iron Ever

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The iron is not flimsy or light.  The price was right for my budget for an iron that is substantial.

I absolutely love how well this iron steams and presses clothing without having to use a lot of force or weight into it to be able to get a crisp finish. With so many steam vents, it quickly and efficiently steams away wrinkles. 

And the retractable cord is a great added feature!

IRONING MADE EASY

I'm happy with this Hamilton Beach Durathon Digital Retractable Cord Iron! The iron has a good weight to it. It glides across the fabric nicely and heats up quick. I love the retractable cord, stores away nicely. I would recommend this product if you are looking for an inexpensive balanced weight iron. IT GETS THE JOB DONE QUICKLY!

GREAT PRODUCT

Iron is oversized and heavy.  The retractable cord stopped working after a week.  You can't fill the water reservoir completely up or it will slosh water on the item you are trying to iron.  Steam function is sluggish and doesn't produce as much steam as my previous iron.  No more Hamilton Beach for me.
