I have followed the directions for use when using the Hamilton Beach pasta maker on three different occasions but each time, the machine either stops, the pasta does not extrude, or when it does extrude, it is too soft. Presently, the machine suddenly stopped and the lid shifted so now I am unable to open the lid. This is extremely frustrating and time-consuming. As mentioned, I followed the instructions and the ingredients were weighed to the exact amount suggested. I tried contacting Hamilton Beach using the number posted on both their American and Canadian sites but I could not reach a live representative even though it was suggested to call the number to discuss questions/issues. I have wasted a LOT of time and flour. It would be much easier for me to just make the pasta from scratch. I am so disappointed as my only option is to throw it out as I did not keep the receipt or box. Lessons learned: save receipts and never buy a Hamilton Beach product. P.S. I do not ever take the time to write reviews but in this case, I thought it necessary. UPDATE: I just tried calling one of the repair centres listed on their website and they no longer do repairs for Hamilton Beach products. The second repair location is over four hours away so I would have to mail the pasta maker (with the egg, water and flour still in it) which would cost a fortune.
