I was looking for a decent single cup coffee maker that did not take those little cups, you would be surprised at how hard it is to find one that is good quality and a reasonable price, this one is it.  If you want to use your own coffee and make just 1 cup and not spend a lot of cash, your search is over, buy this and stop looking.  Seriously, I am one who spend hours looking up reviews and price comparisons and I did your leg work for you, this even has two temperatures to brew at depending on the grind and strength you want from the brew.

The best single serve coffee maker out there. I did a lot of research on others before buying this one. This is a no hassle coffee maker. No smell. No much to wash or clean except for the scoop, the filter  which I normally clean it with water. Seriously no hassle, no-maintenance coffee maker. Always use the Bold mode.

The Best single-serve Coffee maker out there!

We've only had this coffee maker for a few weeks but so far we've been happy with it. It does what we bought it for - it makes one cup of coffee quickly. My husband is the one who uses it and he had to kind of play with the regular and bold settings and the amount of coffee to put in the scoop until he got the right amount. We read several reviews before purchasing which was very helpful. I wish I could remember the name of the reviewer who was most helpful. They gave very detailed information about their experience and what to expect. Like they said, most of the negative reviews are likely from people who don't read and/or follow the instructions. We did read and follow the instructions and have had no problems. I think the main thing to understand and remember is that the coffee grounds go in the scoop and not the filter below it. If you don't follow those instructions you WILL end up with grounds in your cup.

Does exactly what we bought it for.

Im LIKING THIS VERY MUCH. FAST and NO OVERSPILLS. Has a SEAL under the top so IT DOESNT LEAK. Love the SCOOP/STRAINER then has ANOTHER MESH FILTER UNDER SCOOP. VERY WELL BUILT , NOT CHEAP PLASTIC.EASY to CLEAN TOO. Very GOOD COFFEE / I WOULD BUY AGAIN . BEST IVE FOUND SO FAR. BUY IT IF U WANT 1 Cup GREAT COFFEE.

I live in a small cottage, so I needed a coffee maker that doesn't take up space.   It took me a while to get it to taste just right, because I use to make 20 oz. cups in my Keurig (which broke, causing me to press "brew" 4-5 times to get one 20 ox. cup).  I make the bigger size (14 oz) cup in the Hamilton Beach The Scoop Single-Serve Coffee maker, and I use the "bold" selection so the water flows through the coffee slower.  I use much less coffee to make a cup.  I like that you can hang the scoop/filter on the side of the maker to let it dry and to not misplace it.  I also like the double filter.  It barely leaves any grounds on the bottom (more like a tiny bit of coffee dust) in the bottom of my cup.  I can drink all but a couple drops of the coffee.  I'm currently using a very finely ground coffee, so I bet it wouldn't leave anything in the bottom of the cup if I used a more coarsely ground coffee.  It brews quickly too.

My father is alone now and wasted a lot of coffee fixing a pot of coffee just for him. This maker doesn't need special pods or coffee filters so that I really like. Only thing, we figured it out but not in the instructions, some water stays in the machine, like a reserve so you have to put extra water in the first time to get a full cup thereafter. Looks nice. Only used a few times since he received for Christmas

Just what my father needed

BOUGHT THIS AFTER MY OLD COFFEEMAKER QUIT ON ME. GREAT PRICE AND VERY QUICK SHIPMENT TO MY FRONT DOOR. THIS SOMEHOW MAKES A MUCH BETTER TASTING COFFEE THAN MY OLD MACHINE AND I USE THE SAME COFFEE IN THIS AS I DID IN THE OLD MACHINE.
CLEANUP TAKES ABOUT 2 MINUTES AND ALL THAT CHROME MAKES IT LOOK MORE EXPENSIVE THAN IT IS. I WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED THAT IT DID NOT COME WITH A LARGE MATCHING COFFEE CUP SO I AM USING MY OLD CUP THAT DOES NOT QUITE MATCH THE DECOR. IT DOES COME WITH TWO SCOOPS AND HAS A HANDY NOTCH ON THE SIDE TO HANG YOUR SCOOP AND KEEP EVERYTHING TOGETHER. VERY QUICK IN PRODUCING A HOT, GREAT TASTING CUP OF COFFEE. HAS NO ALARM TO TELL YOU ITS READY. VERY EASY TO SWITCH FROM LARGE TO SMALL COFFEE CUPS. ONLY USES LOOSE COFFEE, BUT I SUPPOSE YOU COULD CUT OPEN PREPACKED CUPS AND POUR INTO THE SCOOP. IT DOES WHAT IT WAS DESIGNED TO DO VERY WELL. GETS MY RECOMMENDATION.

THIS IS IDEAL FOR MAKING SINGLE CUPS OF COFFEE.

Would only empty half of the water into the cup. Would make a half cup of coffee and and rest of water would sit in container. Very attractive one cup coffee maker, but didn't work properly. We returned it to store and tried another one and it did the same.

Great looking but it didn't work properly

I returned this product to the store because the coffee tasted like metal. Where you put the coffee grounds is a metal cup so maybe that had something to do with the taste-dont know. Iliked the fact that the coffee wasreally hot, also I noticed that sometimes the grounds did not get all the way wet when you pressed regular- I even cleaned it out with the vinegar mixture-didnt help a bit.

I was hoping that this coffeemaker would work for me, but I was disappointed in the outcome of this machine. It did not brew the exact amount that it states, brews less than an 8oz cup and not the full 14oz cup that it states in the Demo or the booklet. The setting for the Bold taste for coffee didn't seem to be any more different/bolder than the regular brew button and I was a little worried when ever I would raise the little shelf to set my cup on because it was not level, the factory did not align this machine correctly. I ended up returning it. :-( I was very unhappy with this coffeemaker.

Not what I was expecting. :-(
