I've spent too much money on the hands free models, which are ok, but don't offer the consistent performance as this machine. Also, no batteries that need to be replaced often like the hands free models. My wife and mother both appreciate this opener. it has saved their hands.

Do remember that this unit cuts off the top edge and top lid of each can. It automatically stops when finished/or makes a "done" noise. Easily used. Insert the can top flush against the top back of the unit. Then pull down the cutter with your hand and go!

Sturdy, Easy to Use Electric Can Opening

This is the least I have learned to spend on a can opener at wal mart. I open a lot of cans. I went through a lot of can openers trying to find one that works consistently and well. They usually break and maybe it is because of how I am using them or whatever. This one lasts a long time. 

Though there is a problem opening the cheapest wal mart cans, I think they are too thin. Might have to help it by moving can around a bit. 

I had one after a few years stop cutting, and just recently replaced it hence this review. I never quite figured out what it was exactly though there is a consumable part that wears down over time.

Least amount you should spend to open a can.

I bought a lot of hand and electric can openers in my time but today with hands that don’t have the strength they once did I buy electric.  Purchased an electric one that didn’t work six months.  So I shopped around, read the reviews and chose this one.  Best electric can opener I ever purchased.  This one is a winner, easy to use, takes the entire top off and does not leave any sharp edges.  Great price.

Best Can Opener Ever

I use this can opener almost every single day and sometimes multiple times a day. I don't know why I waited so long to buy one. It is such an easy thing to use and so practical I spent years spraining my hands trying to open cans with an old-fashioned crank type can opener. This does all the work for me most of the time it makes the edge of the Can Lid and top of the can smooth and I don't have any strain at all. I am highly satisfied with this purchase and if you're doubting yourself and thinking that it's a luxury, you don't need rest assured it is very practical and you will use it all the time!

Automatic electric can opener

This is the second HB smooth edge electric can opener I've bought. The first one lasted quite a few years before the blade finally got too dull. It is a wonderful little machine, and I don't worry about my dogs (or me) accidentally getting cut if a lid falls or they dig in the trash somehow. I'm sure I'll get another in 7-10 years when this one wears out.

when I tell you this can opener was worth the $45 when you open up the canned good it has a smooth top so you don't get cut compared to the other ones. also let's say if you don't have any containers and you just use a little bit of what's in your can where you can put that lid back on the top back on for a lid and you can store it in the refrigerator like that so it's a win-win all the way around.

This is a great can opener for anyone at any age or condition. I  have enjoyed the smooth edge can openers with big handles to hold them easier.  But as I age my hands do not like  the struggle of manually opening a can.  I was very pleased to find this electronic opener that offers, non slip, smooth edge cutting technology, with a strong magnet that helps hold the can in place off the counter tops (before, during, and after use) even if you turn away for a moment, also the retractable  cord is a big plus with no fuss. They offer one with a small matching  scissor that is held in a slot on the backside of the opener, make sure you order that one. For some reason mine didn't have the scissors just the slot it goes in. However it still proves to be the best. It has a good look, easy to use, and the cord does get in the way.  It doesn't take a lot of space, and when the top is up it is a useful handle that allows quick moving in and out of any spot you may wish to store or just move out of the way. Remember the non slip bottom,  it is  best to not push it out of your way. It is light enough to pick up with one finger to move out of your way. I love mine and have had it for a while and I use it often and am able to store anywhere. I hope this helps answer any questions you may have. I highly recommend buying one.

I had bought one over a year ago that seemed to last pretty well. Then I purchased another a couple months ago and it was spotty with opening cans after a month. I ended up having to throw it away last week as it just stopped working altogether. Very frustrating when it costs $40 but yet my less than $15 one I had for over 5 years until I upgraded (so I thought).

This is the second one of these can openers I have owned. The first one lasted 4 years before it stopped doing a good job opening smaller cans. I've had this one less than two weeks and it's not opening cans except for in random spots. Very disappointed!
