I had a ninja blender before this one for my daily protein shakes. I loved the blender but could not take the noise level. This blender is perfect because it comes pretty close to my ninja in terms of its ability to liquefy everything I put into my shake, and it does the job with at least 50% less noise!  Easy to use and clean too!

My first peach/blueberry smoothie was eye-rolling good. The ice and frozen fruit broke up nicely, with the sound shield effectively quieting the usual blending noise. This is a definite keeper.

It makes the best smoothies and is so easy to clean!  Still experimenting to find all the ways it can cut down the work  preparation in the kitchen!!! I love it!!!! Very versitile!!!

I have a new home (open floor plan) and a new rescue Yorkie (10 years old & toothless). The Yorkie requires her dry dog food to be ground up fine and an open floor plan had me searching for times that using the blender wouldn't disturb the household. Not only is this blender so much quieter than any I've ever owned, it's also powerful. I get the job done in half the time! Super easy to clean too! I couldn't be more pleased with this blender.

Awesome Blender

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I mainly use this blender to make slushy adult beverages and smoothies. I love the large (52oz) glass blender jar. Plenty of room for ice and ingredients without spilling over. Margaritas come out so slushy that you can stand a spoon up in it. The "Smoothie" button left no ice chunks, that's really nice.

While the Sound Shield does make this blender quieter than the rest of the pack, it takes a little more care to get the jar in and out of the blender. But still worth it, this is now my go to blender as the beverages come out so good!

Crushes Ice Like A Pro

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this about a month ago and love it. I especially wanted to make mayo with it and it does so perfectly. A plus. I really like that the blender jar is 52oz and made of glass. The footprint of the motor base is slightly larger than the old style blenders, but in combination with the glass jar, it is weighted, so that it does not dance on the kitchen counter. Another plus. Clean up is a breeze. Add a little hot/warm water to the jar, place on base and  set on high for about 40 seconds, then rinse, wipe out and dry. All done. Another plus. With the noise shield down, while blending, it cuts out that loud whine that blenders tend to have, it is not noiseless,  but it is much quieter than a normal blender.  Another plus. In adding up all those pluses, you get a five star product. I really like this blender and hope it will last a long, long time. It does come with a 3 year warranty too.  I did receive this blender as  a promotion for a truthful review. I would never mislead someone into buying anything, this one is a real keeper.

Hamilton Beach Sound Shield 950 Blender

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the Hamilton Sound Shield 950 Blender. I especially like the smoothie button, I just add my ingredients, press the button, and I get the perfect consistency every time. It also crushes ice with no problem. I will say that I don't think the sound shield does much to reduce the noise. All blenders are loud, especially when using ice and frozen fruit, so I wouldn't say it's quiet. I like the quality of the blender, very well made and sturdy. Cleaning it is a breeze, the glass blender disassembles easily into 4 parts, which makes it more convenient for a quick clean. That's definitely a selling point for me. I would recommend to anyone who wants a sturdy and reliable blender.

Sturdy well made Blender

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recently received the new HB Blender with Sound Shield....The efficiency of my kitchen appliance collection just increased greatly with the addition of HB's  new Sound Shield 950 Blender.  Having the Sound Shield in place makes for a non-irritating blender experience. A normal conversation can occur without the high pitched noise level....This blender has allowed me back in to the Kitchen and out of the Garage!!
The Blender is easy to use and clean.  The function panel is clearly marked.  The drip-free spout is a plus.
The large size blender jar is a BIG convenience, especially when blending drinks for a crowd or making large recipe amounts.
The high-powered 3 settings, Pulse, and Smoothie functions make for excellent results with regard to the chosen recipe directive.
I am very happy with this appliance.  I look forward to many tasty moments!!

Now Appearing:  Silence of the Blender

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this product about a week ago and have been impressed with how quiet it is compared to my old blender. That said, the shroud is a bit clunky to use. Maybe it just takes getting used to it. There also seems to be plenty of power, as it liquified whatever I threw at it.

Powerful and quieter

I had this for 1 week
I worked great for smoothies.I have used it about 5 times.  Today it slowed down and started to smoke.
I'm so disappointed.
