The knives are sharp, well-balanced, and well-finished. They rival knives I've looked at that cost several times their price. They have a nice look and feel to them and they cut well. The block is nicely finished and doesn't look "cheap." The finish also matches the color of a typical wood cutting board, so they look nice together on a counter.

Frankly, I was very surprised and pleased to get a knife set of this quality at such a low price. I was actually skeptical; but I knew Sam's Club would take them back if I wasn't happy, so I took the chance. That won't be necessary. The knives are excellent. In fact, if I knew some young person who was just setting up their first place, these knives would be high on my list of possible gifts.
