As a woman with (apparently) freakishly long arms it is hard to find a long sleeve shirt that is actually long sleeved. And I found them here, in the Men's department. The sleeves are nice and long, and the shirt fits nicely, doesn't make bulky, like some other Men's shirts do.
The material is pleasantly thin, good for cooler summer evenings, and excellent for layering.
I'm one happy camper.

My favorite shirt

Hanes

Although they don't feel quite as thick as my 20 year old Beefy-Ts, they are definitely thicker than most of the competing brands. 

Neck hole is average size, which is ok. So many manufacturers have these enormous neck holes which are uncomfortable when moving and working. The sleeves on the long sleeve Beefy-T are freakin enormous! Length is appropriate but the roominess is ridiculous. 

One thing I'm unclear on: I ordered 6 Beefy-T shirts. Four are tagless, but two shirts have these annoying 2 inch cloth tags hard sewn into the collar seam. At least Gildan tags are easily removed. These Hanes tags will have to be tediously cut close to the stitching to avoid ripping the seam stitching. Minus one star because of this and the inconsistency of tagless verses tags.

Good quality as expected

This is a comfortable, well-made cotton long sleeved t-shirt. That being said, it is cut differently than the old-style beefy t-shirts. It runs small. If you wnat a looser fit, order one size up. I am a woman, weighing 155 lbs. of mature age. It jsut fits me. I think a man of medium build would want a larger shirt.

Not beefy

It really felt and looks like a men's T-shirt on. It has A wide Neck ribbing. The girls clothes have a narrower one. The sleeves are long and bulky and So is the whole Tee. I wouldn't Ordered again from a woman but I would for a man. It's a little oversized.

It really feels like a man's T-shirt

Just bought another set of Beefy-T Long-Sleeve T-Shirts and I'm not quite as happy.  They have changed and not to the better.  
1. They are not as thick.  I bought x-large shirts, just like before, but they seemed thinner.  So I checked the weight.  Once I washed the new ones, they weighed 285-293 grams.  My old Beefy-T, washed numerous times, weighed 311 grams.  Result, they are at least 6-8% lighter.  I'd rather pay more and get the same quality.  
2. My old shirts were tag-less.  That means the shirt doesn't scratch my neck.  Very nice.  The new shirts have 2 tags at the neck.  Very uncomfortable.  So, I'm going to cut off the tags, which will defeat the purpose of having them.  Not as good.  
Again, you would build trust in your product if you kept a consistent quality.

New vs Former Beefy-T

I have ordered large Hanes Beefy Ts for many years for my husband. We loved that they were roomy, study weight and soft.
The 7 new ones I just ordered were not the same quality. They were tight (one sleeve cuff being so tiny he could barely force his hand through it!)
They all shrunk and the colors bled although I wash them in cold water and dry them on medium heat. Basically a disaster.
I can't imagine what has happened to our trusted standby, but I will move on to another brand.

Disappointed after many good years

am going to stop buying Hanes products due to the inconsistency in sizes.  I have worn a Large for many years.  These were perfect when I tried them on (finally long enough) but once I washed them, they were too small.  I am not going to pay to return something that I cannot count on to fit co

No more buying Hanes due to inconsistent sizing

NOT BEEFY, no beef, barely lettuce. The good quality jersey material and solid construction of the Beefy-T that you bought before, that led you here to buy more, is apparently gone. I should have heeded the advice from other negative reviewers and saved my time and money. Thin weak material on 5/5 of the shirts I bought, shoddy construction on 4/5. Finally, placed order 11/26/18 received 12/13/18 at 4:33 pm. Ugh.

Don't do it.

I've been wearing these shirts for years, I buy a few new ones once or twice a year.  I received three new ones last week, washed them in cold water, tossed them in the dryer for half an hour, folded them up and tucked them away in the drawer.  I put one on this morning, over a cotton tank.  I had trouble getting the layers to lay flat and wrote it off to cotton-on-cotton friction.  While the coffee was brewing I caught my reflection in the kitchen window and was not happy to see the collar splayed out 2" from my neck.  Upon closer inspection and comparison with one of last year's shirts, I noticed a line of stitching missing where the collar meets the shirt.  I compared the circumference of the two collars, also.  The new is significantly larger.  I checked the other new shirts and found them to be the same.  Hanes has ruined a perfectly good product!  I'll be in touch directly for a refund.

BUYER BEWARE, THE QUALITY HAS CHANGED.

These are not, repeat are NOT, the traditional long sleeve Beefy T shirts I have ordered for years.  It is much lighter fabric and having ordered both the 2XL and the XL I have ended up throwing out both orders of 6 each.........huge size difference combined with downgrade in fabric.  Others here have commented the same.  Hanes needs to put a warning on this product specifically
