Bought this for a light weight jacket on cool mornings for my first grader and it is perfect. Just what I wanted.  the sleeves are a little long but that's great because it co era his arms and they don't ride up like others. I bout a dark blue and black one.  I will buy the next size up next year if he needs it.

What I expected

This full zip hoodie is well made, durable, soft and warm. This particular one is lighter weight than others I have purchased through Hanes but still pleased with the warmth it provides. Pricing is reasonable though a lower threshold for free shipping is my preference. These zip ups are versatile for the unpredictable weather in my state. I have purchased for my 7 year old in many different colors and these are always her go to for outdoors until it's winter coat weather. Great for warm days too when she is in an air conditioned school building and ties around her waist when playing outside when she gets too warm

Versatile jacket at a reasonable cost

I bought several of these for myself and the range of colors is great and they are heavier then the ones i bought several years ago.   Like the softness of them, the way they stand up to washing, the comfortable fit and more of the old designs that I had as a kid from these hooded sweatshirts.   Way to go Hanes!   I literally wear them every day..

Youth Hooded Sweatshirts, (Hoodies)

This hoodie doesn't have those strings to tie under your chin. Zipper doesn't choke when up all way. Lightweight fabric feels like a soft sweater. Cotton/poly blend easy to wash.

Improved Hoodie Design

I've ordered several of these in sizes from XS to XL for great nieces and nephews. They are sturdy, run true to size, and come out of the dryer looking great. Also a fan of the adult version.

Kids love them!

The forest green is a good color. Wish the zipper were nylon, like the adult zip hoodie, instead of metal.

Good basic hoodie for kids

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought 2 for each of my sons. Light blue was a great color. Zipper could be nicer but for the price it is great.

Nice Hoodie

We bought a set of these for the kids. The pullover for my eight year old that's 10-12 fits her, but I'm not sure for how long. The zip one I bought for my 10 yr old (size L) did not fit. He ended up keeping my size medium women's one that's a little big for him. The small one I got for my six yr old fit before washing and won't fit for long now that it's washed. 

I like the sweatshirts for the price. The zipper will get a little warped or wrinkly. I like the pullover better for that aspect. They are soft and medium weight. 

Buy up a couple of sizes for the fact that they run small and they shrink.

Shrinks! and runs small

Had no idea there is a difference in sizing between youth girls and youth boys...not clear when ordering.  I called Hane's corporate to find out that a boy's small is larger than a girl's medium.  So much for "Unisex."

My son normally wears a size 14-16. The Hanes size chart lists their size large as 12-14 and the XL is a size 16-18. So I thought I was playing it safe by ordering the bigger, XL size. However, when it arrived and my son tried it on it was too small.  The bottom of the jacket hit right at his waist and the sleeves didn't even reach his wrists. It was definitely disappointing because my son said he liked the color (Navy) and that it was a really soft and nice looking jacket.
