I had such a ball playing this game and I'm a new gamer...so you don't have to be experienced to enjoy it.

Running around Hogwarts is a trip! I will say I wish the rewards in the Room of Reward were more of a reward. If you've seen the movie they are not all that exciting. However I haven't had a chance to get them all yet, so maybe some of the last ones are more exciting. In order to get one you have to know how to play chess so you might want to find a chess playing friend!

What a fun game

It's a great game for Harry Potter fans. The only other game I play on Wii is Zelda because I love the quest/adventure games with realistic graphics.

This one is a lot of fun using the wiimote as a wand. Most of the game is spent walking back and forth through Hogwarts, doing tasks and mini quests--it's fun to use the spells and uncover the hidden magic and secrets throughout the ginormous grounds. Characters are so realistic.

The mini games are nice except for the wizard chess --you can't really tell which pieces are what. And the fonts are so tiny on th screen that it's impossible to read some things.

Dueling is supposed to be fun but I haven't got that far in the game yet. I definitely recommend this for quest gamers who like to "play around" more than fight.

great quest/adventure game

This game is a MUST if you are a Harry Potter fan. If you enjoyed the books or the movies, you're just LOVE the interaction in this game. With the Wii remote as your wand, the fun is endless. I had a blast playing this game multiple times. That's the true test of a game, will you play it more than once, and yes you will.

MUST for Harry Potter Fans!

A must buy for Harry Potter fans. The Wii version was developed from the ground up and allows you to use the Wii-mote as a wand. It takes some getting used to it. Certain items can only have certain spells, and if you're trying to cast the wrong spell it sometimes doesn't cast it. But it doesn't take long to figure out which items can be hit with which spells. Best way is to click the B button until the correct target is selected, then do the appropriate wand maneuver. The seamless streaming of the huge castle is great, with only a few unexplorable areas. The screen is a little slow on occasion (frames per second), and some of the tasks are menial. But the freedom you get to explore the castle and interact with the items is fun. Would have been better with some broomstick stuff, but given the storyline I think that's a legitimate loss. But this game is not for non-Harry Potter fans, as they just won't "get it."

Good fun, for the right person

This game is what every Harry Potter Fan has ever wanted in a game, PLAYING WITH A WAND. You can tell the game was designed by fans of Harry Potter because they took the time to make the castle match the movies as well as the books.

The game play is generally easy but does have its moments of not reacting quickly enough to your actions. I felt the occlumency and the final battle was unnecessarily tiring because you shake your arm back and forth for five to ten minutes depending on the challenge. Also the story mode seemed fairly short. But the endless day portion of the game, which are the challenges around the castle, are fun and challenging. You do tend to run from one end of the castle to the other to complete a task.

Overall I would say that this game is meant for fans of the books and movies but not a general gamer.

You get to play with a wand!

Well, if you're one of those people who tend to forget things easly well then you might just get hit by a killing curse! its amazing the graphics sound and locations through out hog warts, its like your really there! but the controls get kinda complicated while casting

WOW!

When I first got this game I was expecting a plain old movie based game with not very much extra plot content and not-so-amazing graphics. But this game went above and beyond for the price paid. As the game starts out, you learn some of the basic spells for everyday, walking around. Then, once at Hogwarts you learn the spells used in combat. The game has very good graphics, a great improvement from the original Wii sports that comes with the system. At times, there are some tasks that require some thinking to get. Also, if you have bad eyesight, prepare to put on those glasses because the game uses some fonts that can be hard to read. Overall, this game is very good considering it is a movie game. Harry Potter fans should definitely give this game a try.

I was expecting so much more from this game, seeing as how you can use the Wii remote as a wand, but it didn't live up to my expectations.

They said it was a sandbox game, which meant free roaming, and not having to follow a specific plot line; however, if you don't do something right away, Ron and Hermione keep mentioning it, over and over. And some tasks seem nearly impossible to do. Some spells, as the game progresses, don't work, either.

It has great graphics, though.

Decent, I guess...

I was terribly dissapointed with this game, I am not a proficient gamer and even my husband tried it. The WII remotes are not sensitive enough and will cause younger players frustration. We did buy it for the XBOX 360 and it was much more usable and is easy for most ages. This game was not specifically made for the WII but as a multi-system game, hence the troubles for WII.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix WII

I bought this game as someone who loves video games and the Harry Potter series. I thought that it was beautiful. They did a great job of capturing the look of Hogwarts. However, the game play was tedious and the controls often didn't work the way they should have. I was disappointed and sold the game soon after buying it after only playing a handful of times.
