In the Don’t Break the Ice game, players need to help Phillip the Penguin chop some ice blocks so he can make a new igloo. Brrrrr, that water’s cold, even for him! This game for preschoolers and kids ages 3 and up is filled with suspense as players take turns tapping out the blocks of ice. But watch out! If a player breaks the ice and Phillip falls through, they’re out! Reset the blocks to start a new round with the remaining players. The last player left who hasn’t made Phillip fall through the ice is the winner. My 7-year-old grandson had to have hand surgery. but with his left hand he loves to play this game. He's been playing it everyday all day for 3 weeks now. this is such a wonderful toy.

My 4yr old really likes this game, we play it often. It is a bit hard for her to put the ice cubes in, nonetheless we play together so I don't mind helping.

I got this for my son for his third birthday and oh my gosh it was such a hit! I was looking for games that would help him with his hand eye coordination, and that we could play together because I want to have activities that are fun for both of us. I feel like this game was a total hit because he is able to line up the majority of the blocks, and then I put in the last final pieces that are a little harder to put in place. He sets up the platform and then turns it over and place the penguin in. Then it's a great learning opportunity for us to figure out who gets to go first we take turns  and then try not to hit the penguin! It's a great quality for the game and we have reused the box to put it back in. I would suggest just putting the ice block pieces in a Ziploc bag so that you aren't always fighting for space each time you put it back.

Perfect toddler gift

I recently purchased this for my grandsons as a Christmas gift.

When my children were little they absolutely loved this game and would play it for hours.

Children enjoy the challenge it offers and it can be played by a variety of ages who would all find it fun.

Great game for any age! My 5 year old stepson and my 8 year old daughter loved this game and played it for hours! 
its a great thing for kids to play with instead of being on a screen! Inexpensive too!
the blue pieces in the photo are the legs to the main  part of the game and they just insert easily to the bottom of it.

Such a great game for adults and kids to play together! You can put the penguin anywhere on the board and it comes with the cutest little ice choppers. So fun! 

There's multiple versions of this game, my mom has one and I thought this one was the same- be mindful of that if you want a specific one!

Easy to learn and play.

The 9 and 10yo forgot they played when younger (they loved it then and now). The 5yo did too but we had to show him bit of strategy or he would usually lose. 

They ALL wanted to play again and again! This game is probably geared for ages 3 to 8yo, but works for above too. After all, who doesnt like taking turns hammering out a cube of ice trying to prevent the penguin from falling? Game is over when the penguin falls, that person loses but we then have the losers go first).

Oldie but a Goodie! 5, 9, 10 and adult played!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm not familiar with the game, and it was for a four year-old. I'm sure it will be a good selection, but because it was a gift I wasn't able to open it and check it out. The price was fabulous and the instructions on the back of the box were very clear. I believe he will not have any problem playing the game and I'm sure he will have fun.

While my 6-year-old grandson loves smashing the ice, this is very poorly made. The ice has to fit so tight together that they can't do it which means every 30 seconds you're putting this thing back together. And it's very difficult to get back together.  I'm thinking about gluing the feet part on because you just breathe on them and they fall off and if I glue them they won't fit back in the box but you just brush up against them and they're falling off which doesn't make for it to be much fun to play. Very difficult for little kids in my opinion other than just smashing the ice.
