The game itself is fun and my son loves it, but we received a French version.  The box itself was in French as well as the instructions.  We had to YouTube to try and figure out the rules/how to play.  We ended up just making our own rules as we went.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this game is fun... no batteries needed which is nice fir a kids game.. you do not have to run through batteries. it is fun and ,my son loves it... the only complaint i have is that the arms fall off. they seem to fall of more , the more the game is used..... my son does not have a problem with this. he thinks its funny. and he can put them back on himself. overall its a great game except for the arms....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was happy to get this game because the box was cute enough and caught my attention! When I saw the Max creature I thought it was even cuter then I expected. It was hard to click the arms in place to be honest. You click the feet in place as well. The whole bottom of the game is simple and easy to set up. For the little cardboard game pieces all you have to do is punch them out so that's very simple. You have to know that you will need to detach everything to fit it into the smaller box every time you are done with this game. So think twice if it will upset you to have to put it together every time you play and take it apart to put it in the box. As I stated before the arms can be annoying and hard to click in place. Maybe to solve this problem you can just leave the whole game put together and just store this in a bigger bin to make it easier.

Getting to the game part it is pretty fun. You click back Max while clicking the arm up in place to see what piece if any get smashed. Then you move your game pieces according to the number and collect your berry cardboard cut outs. It can be fun not knowing where the hand will land and I think this could be really fun for kids as well! A simple fun game and I am happy about not having to buy batteries. It is up to 3 players and there's three different animals you can choose to be. I think instead of green or blue one side should be red because the dark green and dark blue can mesh easily together. It's still great for that reason alone that each set of animals is unique to tell the difference even easier with those darker colors. When Max smashes down some pieces can fall down because of that but you are putting those pieces on the outer edge anyways so it doesn't matter but just a little annoying. Not too sure if the game will last too long because it is hard enough to put together the arms and it can wear down. You have to always reset his arms in the air and sometimes it's hard to keep them up so that can be a little annoying too. I can see if these little game player pieces don't get set properly each time in the bags they will get lost because the player animals are very small. This goes for the little berry cardboards as well.. tiny so everything needs to be extra kept track of to all be together. I think Max is very cute and the little snail that you pull back for the game is cute as well. All in all pretty good just don't know if it all won't wear down and last that long. I say If you are curious about this little game then try it out! Trying new things is always fun! These are my honest opinions for the free product I was given. I have taken a close up pictures of the game so you can get a better idea. :)

Cute game

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought this game would be fun for my 4 year old boy and he seemed very excited to play. He could not wait to see Max Mash the critters!

Max comes in pieces and you have to build Max by assembling his arms and feet and place him on the board as well as adding the 3 tree stumps. You will have to take him apart after each use to put back in the box. Putting Max together was simple and my son helped. To play the game you move a little snail on the side and it spins max around and then he stops and his arm is released and he smashes his fist down. This is done at the start of every turn. Well....Max's arm either didn't come down, or would come down right away knocking all the pieces of the board as he spun. It worked properly only about 1/2 the time. So, I was having to play the game and hold Max while the kids pulled the snail back for their turn. My son was frustrated and did not want to play anymore.

When I went to put Max back in the box, he would not come apart. the feet came off and one arm, but not the mashin' arm. We could not get this apart "gently" as instructions indicate. I think this is a great idea and when it works the kids laugh but seemed more frustrating than fun. Bummer!

Mashin' Sometimes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought this game was suppose to be kind of fun to play with my 5 years old son, but it's in fact kind of boring, I'm really into games with him and he usually follows all the directions for all other games we played. With mashing max wasn't like that, all he cared about was the big monkey figure and the critters to play apart.

The game it's about max (the monkey) smashing the bugs every time you turned a snail bar that makes the monkey spin and drop his fist which some times it's not even strong enough to catch the bugs, also the quality it's not that good since max's arm doesn't stay ask the way up and falls off the base from time to time.

As you can see in the picture, it comes with critters for 3 teams, cardboard berries tokens and instructions that are a little hard to understand for my taste. The berries are collected as you land in the spaces..but it's Confusing where or how to arrange the critters in the first place.

I think this game is very cute but lacks of structure rules and thus, lacks of entertainment. But hey, there's a taste for everything, if you want to go for it, I hope you have fun.

Not very fun... For my taste

The object of the game is to collect as many berries with your critter while trying to avoid getting mashed by Mashin Max. A player can choose to be either a turtle, hedge hog or bunny. The game includes Mashin Max gameboard, blue, green, and yellow player platforms. It also comes three green trutles/yellow hedge hogs/blue bunnies. You can put the critters in the storage bag that is included as well. While putting the game together, the instructions was not clear and the quality of the parts is low. Half the time Mashin Max's fists does not come down far enough to get the critter or sometimes they didn't come down at all. Might want to consider another game

Not so much!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To Start i got the Mashing max game in exchange for an honest review. The idea of the Game is you try to collect berries while trying to avoid getting mushed. I have some issues with the game: Anyone old enough with enough dexterity to operate the game is going to get bored quickly. This game is more about luck than about accomplishing anything: Whoever is lucky to not get smashed wins. So basically what you get is a game of Russian Roulette. Another issue is the mechanics of the game, it doesn't always work, sometime the monkey spins but the fist doesn't smash, it just makes a clicking noise. Finally to put the game away, you have to completely disassemble Max.

Could be better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This game offers several different ways to play & an exciting premise which children of all ages would be excited to play, even my forty five year old son. Lol. .The beast, I'm not certain what Max is supposed to be, is massive & the critters & the playing board are all vibrantly colored. The berries are circular chips which isn't bad, but, the critters & the beast are plastic so why aren't the berries? The problem is "Mashin'" Max. He doesn't work properly, if at all. He'd Mashed once & his arm hasn't left the upright position since. The pieces are easy to assemble & a chore to disassemble. It needs revamping. I've not taken the game apart yet. Perhaps, if it were equipped with a release switch or a one piece game board, that you needn't take a part it would work, considerably, better. I'd not a chance to play with this monstrocity once, & I was really looking forward to seeing how Max would mash the critters.
