It makes the pressure cooker absorb heat faster making it more energy&#45;efficient. And the pressure cooker stays looking new for years. The Hawkins Futura has a 1&#47;4 inch thick base providing for incredible durability and reliable, even cooking. Hard anodized, non&#45;tarnish, scratch proof Satilon finish. Satilon is stick resistant and extremely abrasion resistant. Stay cool handles and helper handles make handling easier.
