I had one for the pool for 15 years but was difficult to open, was leaking very often and the dial stopped working after a couple of years. 
The new one I bought is much better. Easy installation, open and close the lid is smooth and the dial works. Happy with the new one so far. Best price I found on the internet. 
A couple of years ago, I replaced the lid of the old unit and paid as much to Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies as I paid this time to get a whole new unit.

Has a new square profile o-ring. May or may not last longer than round one. Internal exit pipe is now black plastic.  These usually last me about 5 yrs. We'll see if this lasts longer.

Finally replaced a 20 year old Hayward CL220 Off-Line Automatic chlorinator.

It looks like a well designed product with easy installation.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall you are paying a high price for a plastic canister that will eventually give out (this is my third one in 9 years).  Unfortunately there are not a lot of alternatives.  This larger one at least enables you not to have to refill it as often and is not a lot higher priced.  Walmart did do a good job of getting it to me.

Would have given 5 stars but the instructions were clear as mud and the special lubricant was not supplied although it clearly showed on the parts list.

Received the Hayward Chemical Feeder on time as promised.  Unfortunately the black support stand on the bottom was not connected to the feeder, and it wont snap back in.  I had to connect the feeder but just place the unit on the stand and hope it wont fall off with a gust of wind.  I will probable glue it for a more stable support.   Overall, just a little more hassle but the price was good!
