Received the heli-coil in just a few days and it was exactly as advertised.  It worked great and was able to repair my boat trailer hub. The only thing is the 33/64 drill bit needed to complete the repair doesn't come with the heli-coil kit. I had to purchase it seperately for about eight dollars and it took about two weeks to get it delivered. It's too bad they don't offer a heli-coil kit with the size drill bit you need.

Heli-Coil Kit 1/2-20

Pros: Successful install. Nice sharp tap. Cuts to proper length easily using dremel tool.

Cons:  Plastic install tool useless in tight fitting areas. No drill-bit included in package. 33/64" needed. Also, no thread-lock in kit to secure heli-coil to newly cut threads! Biggest issue with this tool is that it requires two (2) different T-Handle Tap Wrenches, one for each tool. Stanley could improve this easily by making them both one size. If you have room to use a long handle tap wrench then this will work for you. If close quarters, like I did, I used a 11/32" square plug socket to fit onto tap. 

As a professional Auto Technician, I generally have good success with Heli-Coils but have come to love "Thread-Serts" even more. They are a little more spendy but the kits are complete and fool-proof.

This repair was performed on a Harley Davidson Softail stripped transmission drain plug and was in tight quarters between the two horizontal shock absorbers.

It works
