Read this with my sons when they were younger and purchased this set as a gift. The stories and characters are memorable and entertaining for young and old.

Great

I was prepared not to like this book, being that I'm a Christian and I heard that it was written by an Athiest and that in the end of the 3rd book the characters kill "God".

But I'm glad I read it. What a quick-paced action adventure, full of mystery. If you like fantasy, this is a must read. The main characters are fascinating.

Yes, towards the end it talks about religious dogma & zealots, but only in the context of the story. I personally did not find it offensive. And as for the "God" that they want to kill off it's actually NOT the "creator" but an imposter who is vengeful and controlling. So I have no problem with with the imposter being killed off.

The book has a good message at the end about living your life to the fullest and putting some good into the world.

I surprisingly LOVED this book.

Great boxed set for anyone who loves His Dark Materials

Great set at a reasonable price.

I started the HBO series before I realized it was based on the books, so of course, I had to buy them, and I wasn't disappointed. The HBO series is great and mostly true to the books, but you just can't beat the level of detail in the books. Highly recommend, especially if you enjoyed the shows.

I bought the trilogy when the movie came out. I read the books before seeing the movie. These books were wonderful, fantasy at it's best. This book is definitely worth the read. I love fantasy books and the adventures Lyra gets herself into is both heart-renching and dangerous. Read this book...
