A fine saw for the money and power rating.  I did not need a big utility professional saw, just a small around the house tool (also for trimming in the yard), and it does the job much better than another "equal" rated brand of same specs that I returned, and traded in for the Metabo.  Metabo cost 15 bucks more- so what, a MUCH better product.

Within its class, this is the top saw.

I used this on a demolition in a very old home going through nails, screws, horse-hair plaster, and old wood with ease. It got filthy, ran hard, and long and it kept on keepin on. Very well priced for the quality for a corded tool, i wasn't gonna spend the extra cash on a cordless one to barely be used.

Quality tool

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After burning out two reciprocating saws in short order I  went to my local box store and reviewed several saws.  I decided to try the Metabo.  I primarily use the saws for cutting out large roots when I remove trees.  The Metabo had no problems with cutting through the  large roots.  It did not overheat, cut through the roots quickly.  The 11 amp motor is a huge plus and did the work easily.  I am very happy with it.

Great Saw

The tool is real good for the wate. It sounds real good. I have only one problem with it. I need to use a letter opener to hold the lever down so that I can put the blade in. And I shouldn't have to do that. Could you please send a lever holding tool. Thank you.

The blade insertion can be made easier.

I own all Hitachi power tools. I have a reciprocating saw, a circular saw and a cordless drill. I have nothing but great things to say about all 3. I just purchased a house and I use my cordless drill every day. I finished my attic using my circular saw and was impressed with the product. I removed 3 deep rooted bushes and a maple tree stump with my reciprocating saw. I chopped the stump out like I was using a chainsaw. The reciprocating saw worked beautifully. Never using them before, I really am impressed with Hitachi products. Please send me some discounts so I can purchase more power tools. Money is tight with purchasing a new home.

I have 3 Hitachi products. They are excellent. The only thing I dont like are the cases for the tools. I especially don't like the latches.

Replacing a Craftsman that I have had for over 15 years and I'm quite pleased with the improvements to the tool in general. Tearing down a old shed and really gave it a good workout. Performed very well, loved the rafter hook when I had to set it down. Power was not a problem as there was plenty. Switching between orbital and linear was great to for the different jobs. Very happy with it.

Great saw for my use

Demolishing a 60' x 16' Mobil Home that the roof had cratered in the middle. This reciprocating saw made the job so much easier. Worked to perfection, even cutting up the frame into manageable sizes to carry to the salavage yard on a 16' flat bed trailer. Easy to change the saw blades out.

Great Product

This is a well constructed, balanced and effective reciprocating saw.  It's feature rich with an LED light to clearly illuminate your work area.  The foldable hook allows for easy storage without laying it down at a job site.  For more permanent storage, the included case is of good quality.  Cutting through wood with the supplied blade was easy with minimal vibration.  Excellent product, I highly recommend it.

Hits Every Box on My Checklist

I had an old Milwaukee that was 30 years old,
but had the old style blade attachment system and the blade was always coming loose after installing it with the set screw tightener. That problem is solved now and the power of the Hitachi is comparable!
