Had memory foam toppers before, this one has good breath ability. Not waking up sweating. My sore back thanked me as soon as I laid on this too, very good support. pretty sure it will resolve it.

I bought this memory foam mattress topper to replace one that I had bought from Walmart years ago. The first thing I noticed was that the price of these products have dropped since I bought my first one.

This 3" Gel Foam topper was a little bit less expensive than my first one which was 2" regular memory foam. It was also larger than my first one which were both described as "double" sized. The first one was a little bit shorter than a normal double sized mattress, but about five inches narrower. This new HoMedics topper is a full double, the same size as my mattress. 

However, the biggest difference between my old memory foam topper and this 'Gel' memory foam one, was the total lack of odor as well as the amount of time for it to fully expand from its tightly packed bag. I remember the regular memory foam topper having a very strong odor that took weeks for it to fully dissipate. As well, it took a full day to recover to a uniform shape. 

Neither of those issues were a problem with the HoMedic Gel memory foam topper. When I opened the tightly packed bag this time, I was surprised that there was no unpleasant odor. I was also prepared to leave it on the floor overnight for it to regain its shape. But, after about an hour I was pleasantly surprised to see it had fully regained its shape and was perfectly flat! So I put it on top of my mattress, made the bed and it looked like I had a whole new mattress. 

After sleeping on it for a few weeks I know I made the right choice. This 'Gel' memory foam mattress topper is firm but soft and offers excellent support! It also stays put and doesn't slide around on top of my mattress. The regular memory foam topper regularly slid to one side of the bed and had to be pulled back into position. 

So, spend a little more and get a premium product -- you're worth it!

Gel Memory Foam is the best option!

Memory Foam Mattress Topper

I bought this 2 days ago and aside from the fact that it comes vacuumed sealed and was not the funniest experience getting it back into the box, I couldn't possibly imagine keeping it in the house any longer. The chemical smell was so bad.  I looked it up online and from what I can find on multiple sites, that smell can last for up to 4 weeks.  It was way too much for me.  You may feel nice and squishy when you first get on it, but after about a couple of hours, my lower back started to hurt so bad that I had to keep shifting to alleviate the pain and numbness.  Never again will I purchase a memory foam mattress.

Horrible Smell.  Horrible Sleep.
