This really a great travel sized set of books. I'm still reading the Hobbit but its already held up well on this trip. Which includes being battered in my bottomless pit(purse) constantly through out the day and dodging dog slobber from my Great Dane. The leather feels so nice  and hasn't gotten to warm being left on a sunny southern patio table for over an hour, new baby please don't judge. The font isn't bad at all compared to some books from the 1990s but I also just use reading glassing anyway for blue light protection.  A very nice little piece of Tolkien to have on hand!

Travel Sized Tolkien, What more do you need?

Great little books that house the entire Lord of the Rings Series. The covers are unique, being vinyl an all, where they almost feel like synthetic rubber. Pages are a bit thin (almost like bible paper) and the font is a bit small. Given the price reduction, all of those characteristics were fine for me. This edition has drawings and maps which is an added bonus.

Good if you are ok with small size

They are super small, I was a bit dissapointeed when I first got them but I absolutely love them! The bindings are beautiful and the box they come in is cute and easy to store. The font is a little smaller in the fellowship but all the other three are easy to read

If you're looking for a classical touch of owning these great stories by Tolkien, I would highly recommend it. The leather covers, various maps and illustrations throught the books and stamped leather collection box are all of the highest quality. The fact also that this version is the most accurate to what Tolkien originally wrote and all the necessary corrections from previous printings have been made, makes this set even better. Truly happy with this purchase!

The perfect peice for your bookshelf

This set of books was exactly as I had imagined it to be.  The soft leatherette cover of each book lends itself to being read.  I was pleased that the books were not hardbacks, which, for small volumes, would have made it difficult to keep them open to the desired place for reading.  And, I had feared the pages would be so delicate that they would easily tear.  This is not the case.  The paper is good quality, opaque, and perhaps somewhat thinner than in a larger volume, but substantial nevertheless.  The print is small, but not unreadable.  The set is stylish and the colors blend into the library setting into which they have been placed.  I am 110% satisfied with the set of books.

This set of books is 'Precious.'

This is a great pocket sized edition its very similar to a pocket sized bible so if you have trouble reading those then you will do well to get another copy but for the money its well worth it. Has full color map in the Hobbit and full maps in lotr.

Great addition

Really nice set. I didn't realize they were on the smaller side, so the writing is fairly small. But we like house they look on the shelves and the feel of the covers.

I love the way the books feel and look, but the print is a lot smaller than iI thought it would be. I'm not returning them or anything, but would like to see the printing a little bit bigger so its a little bit more read able.

Well made but small print

These books are TINY. I didn't read about dimensions in the description before ordering, because like a normal person I expected these would the size of normal books. However, they are very small, and the print inside the books would strain your eyes terribly after a few sentences. Tiny books, even tinier print. Cute set for a collector maybe, but if you want to read them, I'd skip these.

Teeny Tiny Books

Books are very small, nothing like I expected and font likewise.  I purchased as a present for my grandchildren but they will not be inclined to pick them up being so small letters.  They are 6 1/4 inches in height and 4 1/2 in depth.  Seem like toy books.  So disappointing.  Returning them.
