It is built well and packaged very well Good product I wish it had a knob to select certain speeds. It does have 4 presets that are temp driven like a thermostat. It woks well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love these window fans. Had them years ago in another apartment and after moving knew I had to get them for my new place. Installed them with a window ventelator screen and then the regular screen in back. Allows me to leave my apt windows open 24/7 (depending on outside temp) and come home knowing the room will be comfortable with no risk of rain coming in . . . all without leaving the air conditioner running! Great way tonsave on my electric bill.

Every room in my large house has at least one of these fans in it.  I do not have central air.  Window AC units for the few very hot days during the summer. Ceiling fans in every room. I mount the fans on the inside of my window frames in April and the remove them in October. They intake air whenever the outside is above 65 degrees.  On very hot days I shut the fans off, close the windows and turn on the air.  The rest of the time we let mother nature's cool outside air cool the house down.  The fans are a key part of a very efficient AC system.

We love this fan very quiet. We bought our first one about 10 years ago and still works and looks great.

I like that they are electronically reversible and have a thermostat.  They work great and are durable.  This is my third one in 20 years.

Work great!

I bought this product and I am happy that I did. Got rid of my stand fan, less clutter on the floor. This fan works great, I love it! I wished it fit better. There's a little gap when I close  the window but it still works fine. Iam going to buy  the extender coz my window is tall.....I have a slider window. But overall I like this fan, I'm thinking of getting another one. Materials are pretty solid. 
Ps. I haven't tried the exhaust function to it. If that works, then this fan is the best!!

Great Price! Great Product!

I bought this for my bathroom window. It works well on intake and exhaust. It is narrow enough to fit in the window with the screen in place. The adjustable width doesn't get wide enough to block the rest of the window so it would be nice if the side pulled out further. My bathroom window is a standard size I think. Also, I don't know why it has temperature settings on the fans that you have to keep pushing the button through. It should just have high and low and off. A little aggravating but not that big of deal. Overall, a good fan that does the job for a good price.

Works as expected

It's nice looking, quiet, but doesn't have enough power to feel it cool a room down.  I have to put a standing fan in front of the fan  to feel it 10 feet away.
I wouldn't buy another, but invest in a good box fan with power and just take up and down when needed :(

Just okay

I have always had this brand ( Holmes ) and liked it, this one is terrible. Very Very Loud, not white noise loud but more like a generator. 
Will be replacing it.
