Value

Great little safe for a small hand gun. I have a snubnose 38 special and it fits the safe snugly and perfectly. I can extract it from the safe quickly and it has enough room to store some 38 caliber bullets. I like the code feature as well as the back up entry. I placed it on a brick wall and secured it with masonry nails. Assuring the safe cannot be removed without a prybar thus maintaining child protection. I like the little unit it works for me perfectly without it being an intrusion on the room decor. I am happy with it and recommend it. It is way better than leaving your hand gun exposed.

This pistol box is perfect for a spot in your home to safely hide a small gun. The combination is very easy to reprogram and the buttons are big enough to see and feel in the dark. The actual measurement of the door is 7 1/2" W X 4 1/2" H. I originally ordered two of the "small" boxes, but had to order the next size up (medium) for my .38 to fit. The box is very well made and heavy duty.

Nice safe

I was able to fit my glock 20c and extra mag and a few small other things into it. Can fit two to three pocket pistols inside. Also works great for locking up sine medication bottles. Can't be mounted very study in side of closet on shelf in the corner or in the trunk of your car. And if you have big enough console in your truck it will mount well there too. Just make sure you bolt it in our they will walk of with your safe ;)
Passing is non existent (drawer lining type, very thin. Would put your own foam in to protect your pistols. And I would seal the inside with some rubberized glue in the cracks. Safe is not moisture sealed. Is bent and welded steel with a layer of hardened dura-coat)

Perfect for one large grange glock (20-21) square frame. Large frame revolvers would not work in this safe.

Nice little safe for closets, our small spaces.

This safe is good for holding one pistol. I like the unique shape of this unit because I was able to mount it on the side of my night table facing the bed. My Glock 17 just barely fits in it. The "padding" that comes with it is inadequate to protect your weapon from scratches. So I use a small terry cloth towel inside the bottom. Walmart's details leave a lot to be desired. I had to email Homack to find out what batteries it uses, (4 - AA), where the battery compartment is, (a plastic holder attached with velcro to the inside of the safe), and what happens when the batteries run out, (you take a 9 volt and press it against the two exposed metal terminals on the outside of the safe to temporarily operate the electronic buttons). When the batteries die, it loses your combination and reverts back to the factory pre-set combination. So don't lose your instruction book!

No frills, but good value

If you're looking for an inexpensive and secure way to store your pistol, this will do well. Small enough to fit in a night stand drawer and simple to operate. I fit a 9mm an extra mag and a tactical light, as well as a few other small personal valuables. Excellent value.

Great product for the price.

Purchased one for my daughter and one for my son in law. It's a tight but acceptable fit for his SR9 (about the size of a G17) but my daughters Glock 26 fits easily. Quick access but a good level of safety for my toddler grandson. Great for a nightstand, and battery access is easy.

Good Value

My box lost its code after replacing battery, so I tried all 30 default codes provided by manfacturer. None of them worked, so I had to figure out how to get in to retrieve my belongings . I initially tried prying it, and it would have worked with a lot of effort. So tried an easier way based on flaws in other boxes. I found using a pick and pushing the H button back and sliding pick into the side of box went fairly easily with no damage to the button, I then fumbled around inside. unfortunately, I hit something that just pop'd the box open. At first I thought dumb luck, but was able to repeat this each and everytime.

Major security design flaw

Got one all bolted down where it will stay for the millennium locked for all time. The lower button stopped working after only a couple months. As the included directions state if you forget the combination or button malfunctions nothing less than a jackhammer will ever open it again. All electric with no backup way to open it. PURE JUNK! At least it was empty when mine took the big dump.
