Birdhouse looked great when opened. Well constructed, great paint job, just a really nice looking birdhouse. Then we took the back off to spray the rest of the house with poly for protection. The back had 4 nice holes drilled for the screws but the back walls of the house had no pilot holes drilled and the 4 screws were just rammed in and all 4 holes split out the inside of the walls to a point that the screws will probably not hold after one more removal and replacement to clean out the nest. Total disappointment compared to rest of the build. Next time drill a pilot hole and use a much smaller screw. Poor design/manufacturing.

This bird house, and I'm assuming any other bird house that is sold on plow and hearth that look like this one are a complete waste of money. Maybe if they were less than $30???? Ordered this Jan 2, didn't arrive until well into February/March time frame. Pedestal was already cracking and separating. Had to get a replacement. Replacement arrived, pedestal paint was two toned and looked horrible for the price. Bird house looked nice when first arrived but after being outside now for a few a couple of months the roof is already fading. I would not recommend this or any other bird house on Plow and Hearth that resembles this bird house. Complete waste of money and for how expensive they are. Complete joke.
