Effortless and straightforward cleaning process.

I have bought HB brand products before and have yet to regret my attachment.  I put the bread machine to its intended use almost every day and have great expectations re its lifetime of usefulness. The last bread machine lasted 7 years. At this rate, when a kitchen device expires, HB is my go-to brand for quality, price, and ease of use. Until and unless I become disappointed, why would I want to experiment with any other brand? (rhetorical).

Made some wheat bread that was excellent. Super easy way to make bread and not have all the mess or have to watch the oven. Tip: After you take the bread out of the mixer put it in a plastic bag and let the moisture soften up the crust then the bread is perfect. My wife and I keep eating the bread faster than we can make it.

Just what I wanted

i use a recipee i got online for wholewheat bread and i weigh the flour and take the temperature of the water. it works great. thanks wal-mart for another great product!!!! a recipee book comes with it. 4 1/4 to 4 1/2 cups flour. 1/3 cup honey 2 tablespoons safflower oil 2 teaspoons salt,1 1/2 cups plus 2 tablespons 120 degree water, and 2 teaspoons active dry yeast and thats it!!!!

makes great bread

Although I've only made loaves of white bread using the recipe in the book that came with it, I'm positive that ANYTHING made using this appliance will also turn out perfect - no matter where you get the recipe. You won't be disappointed if you purchase this bread maker. Enjoy!!

Wonderful

This bread maker is great. It bake's the bread really well and I love it cause you can bake other things besides bread. Hamilton Beach is a great product i had a bread maker before so I decided to get one again. I love it so yes I would recommend this product to anyone I rate it a 5 star

Hamilton Beach is a great product

I have made three different breads with this so far... Cinnamon, Whole Wheat and Cinnamon Raisin dough (to bake in my oven). They all turned out fine, even when I accidently had one on all the wrong settings because I wasn't paying attention to the directions. I've only used the recipes that come with the machine, but next I will try some from other sources. I have not had a problem with the mixing blade staying in the bread...it has remained in the mixing bowl when I turn it out and the hole remaining in the bread isn't huge like other machines I've had in the past. I researched every other bread machine out there and, for me, for the price, this one is great. I couldn't give it 5 stars only because I haven't had it long enough. As for appearance, there's nothing 'wow' about it...it's just a bread machine, but the footprint is great for my small apartment countertop. With the cost of good breads these days...this will pay for itself very quickly.

So Far So Good

Was very happy when I received it.  First batch of bread   'okay',  second had somehow reversed to an express, I guess.  Hard on the outside, completely undone on the inside.  Now that I have said that,   let me explain.   I am 85, have used bread machines for about 40 years.  This one is gorgeous, can do everything but talk, but is just too intelligent for me.  Too many buttons, too many choices, not blaming the machine, I love it, but I just need something simpler, I guess.

I'm not very happy with it. I've only used the whole wheat setting using my normal half whole grain/half white recipe that I've used on a succession of machines. The knead and rise times vary considerably from my old one, the last rise time is fully 20 min shorter. And for some reason, the crust selector is not available on several settings, including whole wheat. I was able to get an acceptable loaf the last time only by a lot of manipulation on my part, extra yeast, restarting for a longer first kneading, and unplugging it for a few minutes several times to extend the last rise. The capacitor will hold the settings for a while, maybe ten min, but I haven't pushed it to see how long. I will try the "French" setting next time, the times seem to be closer to the whole wheat setting on my old machine. The temps may be different (that French bread crustiness) so I don't know how it will work yet. I was almost disappointed enough to order another brand, but I'll continue to fiddle with it hoping I can get it to work with my recipe.
That said, I can't recommend Walmart's 1-800 people highly enough. After two days of it sitting on a neighbor's back porch, with neither Fedex or the neighbor calling me, I called to cancel and reorder, Fedex had been showing it "delivered" for two days. Later that day the neighbor called, and I had to call Walmart back. In most cases with other companies I would have been told "Sorry, we can't stop the order" or something. But the Walmart phone folks took care of it quickly, no hassle at all on my end, thanks!

Not up to expectations

I used this machine twice. First time stuff did not mix at all. Blade doesn't reach the sides of container.  Second time I opened it up and stirred the ingredients in from the sides so it mixed well.  Then had to bake an additional 1/2 hour after the cycle as it wasn't done.
On its way to Goodwill for someone else to fight with.

Not Impressed.

I bought this item for my wife for her Birthday.  She was very excited to get it as she has always wanted one.  The first time she used it, it walked off the counter and smashed on the floor!    At first we didn't have a clue what happened, as we were in the next room at that time.  But we looked back at our security cam and saw the whole thing.  As it started kneading the bread, it began to slowly turn to the side and then just wiggled back and forth till it dropped off the edge of the counter.  So disappointing.  If you buy one, please anchor it somehow cause it is going to travel.

Mine leapt to it's death and committed suicide .
