I recently inherited a 12-person china set and I needed a place to store and display the pieces, so I ordered this buffet with hutch. I love it. It arrived within 3 days of ordering in a few boxes. I was able to set the whole thing up by myself in a few hours with little difficulty even though my dog decided to help out a bit. The directions were fairly straight forward and easy to follow. All of the hardware and pieces were labeled. This is made of a mix of particle board and wood. I was able to screw cup holder hooks into the top to hang some of the cups (why there were over 20 tea cups in my set when there are only 12 saucers, I will never know).
As a note to anyone who buys this: make sure the buffet is level (adjust by turning the levels on the feet) BEFORE attaching the hutch, otherwise the top will lean. My husband had to carefully tilt it so that I could adjust it before securing it to the wall. My bad - it's not mentioned in the instructions.

This is a beautiful buffet and hutch, and worth the price.  We took all the pieces out of the box,  laid them out in alphabetical order and just followed the instructions.  It didn't take as long as some of the feedback has said, it only took a couple of hours and then we had our beautiful hutch. 

It is of high quality and good construction.

You'd be better off having a friend help you.  Instructions are clear but it will take a few hours to put together.  We did the buffet one day and the hutch the next.  The buffet will take much longer (4-5 hours for us) to complete.  Got the 42 inch round pedestal table and 4 chairs to match and it looks great.  The hutch is solid and heavy.  How it will wear I do not know since we've only had it for a couple weeks.  The boxes were damaged when arrived but there's loads of packing so nothing was damaged.  Overall we're very pleased with our purchase, so far.

Better than expected

On first thought, $390 for a hutch seems a bit, well low priced for a quality piece of furniture.  But I'm after look and function with "decent enough" being the ideal search.  I was blown away when we got this.  

First off, it's 100% solid.  It's really all there, and not some filler board that breaks after 6 months.  The counter piece is solid, polished, and smooth.  The doors open and close easily.  The shelving is functional with several spots up or down to move them.

All in all, my expectations were exceeded 1000x over.  This is one of those things you have to get if you are looking for a great hutch without spending a grand + on it.  It easily competes!

Solid

Much nicer than I expected for the price. I had been shopping around and found several to match my dining room at $1000 or more. This is just as sturdy and beautiful at a fraction of the cost. Great quality at a great price.

Great quality

It was a little tedious to put together but all the pieces fit and we even had extra hardware of almost every piece. I would recommend at least 2 people putting it together. Very good quality!

Great product!

This Buffet was an excellent buy, looks great, very solid and poor misery to put together. It took me two days to put together. So many pieces, total headache. But, worth it after it was put together.....

Looks Great in the Kitchen

The piece turned out lovely.  My 8 and 6 year old grandchildren helped me put it together and did a fine job.  it does take time, but well worth it.  

the cost was significantly lower than a similar piece from a furniture store.

It was very difficult to construct. One piece was even detached (came apart ), during shipping. Very difficult to hold pieces together while placing screws in. Took my brother 4 hours to construct bottom buffet and my husband two hours to put together hutch and both encountered difficulties. Cottage oak countertop matched my table exactly. It's very attractive and sturdy if you can put it together!

The concept it's great but the execution leaves you wonder. As I was putting it together, my wife and I start to see I wasn't for us. Looks good in the pictures online but in real life it could be better.for that kind of money we were expecting something not like that. So you now what's coming.... Yep. Taking it apart an put it in the box for return.

Good idea but...

The piece itself is not bad looking at all. It took a very long time to put it all together so allow at least one whole day, as the directions are horrible and many things did not line up.holes weren't drill deep , and etc.
After we got it all assembled we put it in the dining room and close the drawers and all the doors. I put some drinking glasses and plates in it. When I went to get them they stunk to high heaven. It has a really horrible smell to it and it's not just the varnish either. I know what varnish smells like and that doesn't bother me at all. It's more like formaldehyde.
It's now going on the second week and even with all the doors taken off and the drawers left wide open it still smells awful! I can use it for anything but decoration. Really upset with it.
My poor husband isn't about to take it all apart now and also pay for all the shipping charges back etc.
4 hundred dollars plus down the drain as far as I am concerned!!!

Very disappointing beware there's an odor
