Build Quality

This was not the first piece of put-together furniture I bought, but it was certainly the best. Each piece was wrapped to protect it from damage; the nails, screws, etc. were individually bagged and labelled. Finished product does not scream "I put this together from a kit." Excellent piece of furniture.

Lovely piece of furniture

walmart.com

I was very pleased with this Buffet, it looks just like the picture on the web site. It is absolutely beautiful , sturdy, and functional The only thing that is a negative is that the drawers are not very big, but otherwise I love it.

Nice piece of furniture

It took my husband two evenings to assemble. It is very cute and perfect for what I needed. Seems durable.

Satisfied with cabinet

I have several pieces from this seller. Products are strong, well made and a perfect fit. Love the new addition, thank you Walmart!

Buffet Beautiful

Nice Looking

I noticed immediately upon opening the high quality of materials in this assemble-it-yourself item. The wood finish was perfect and the hardware, attractive and durable. It took about 3 hours to assemble and with no problem with offset holes, I was motivated to keep at it until it was complete. It looks as good as the more costly oak dining set it is meant to match. The only negative was the photocopied instructions which in places were not too clear. However, it turned out well and I am certainly pleased with the finished cabinet. I enjoy admiring it even weeks later. It's well worth the price!

Best small dining buffet you'll ever find

The assembly is not difficult if all the pieces arrive in ONE (1) piece, one person shouldn't attempt the assembly alone.

The doors on the buffet spring open every time my 4# dog walks past them, the buffet is level and the floor incredibly sound so it must just be the breeze she creates. There are gaps in the construction and providing you will have a white wall behind it they shouldn't notice them.

A fair price for this item with consideration of free shipping should be $199.00 and that is only if the buyer doesn't get angry with having to wait 7 - 10 days for the parts that were broken in shipping.

Item arrived broken

Not a wood top. It is a cardboard type material with a thin veneer top. Sides are a cardboard type construction also with a thin veneer. When putting together cardboard on side wall seperated. Had to reglue it together. Will see if it holds up when I start assembly again. If not it will be returned to Walmart.
Ad is very misleading when it says wood top and made of wood and wood products. Some of the pieces are nice solid wood most of which are small boards for the frame and reinforcements. I expected some parts to be composit but did not expect the inner parts to be a cardboard type material. I thought they would be a veneer but with a particle board inner composition. Will update as I go.

Not all wood

First let me say that I don't want to come off as some sore loser complaining about frivolous details or service. My experience with this product and, more importantly, the supplier/manufacturer has been the worst I have ever encountered anywhere!

The product turned up on time and took 2 hours to assemble - fairly straight forward stuff.

Once the unit was completed there were 3 damaged components, a large scratch in the top door unit, a large dent/nick in one of the drawer fronts and a large dark mark that could not be washed out. Someone obviously wasn't checking the quality of the production!

The quality isn't $400 worth, the materials look and feel cheap (I would equate this to a $100-$150 IKEA unit at best). There are numerous knots in the front facing panels and somebody got a bit too happy when using the nail gun to attach the struts that hold the perspex panes in place. The top doors on our unit do not hang straight and there is no way to adjust the hinges to compensate for this (unlike IKEA units).

The drawers are small, they aren't designed to hold cutlery, more like menus and the usual junk such as keys, batteries etc.

The bottom component is fairly sturdy for what it is. The drawers open nicely on the runners. The doors however are a different matter. They seemed to have used industrial strength magnets to hold the doors in place and you need to pull hard on them to open so much so you can move the unit). Also the right door needs to be opened first as the left door has a lip on it (that might not seem much but its a pain when what you need is behind the left door and you need to open the right first).

There is still a plasticky smell in the top cupboard area - even after washing it out with vinegar and leaving the doors open.

Overall, even without the damage, I would not be happy with the quality of this unit for the amount charged. Realistically it should be $150-200, that would seem a more accurate and fair price.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Don't get this product!
