it was easy to assemble for a first-time user like me. I am also glad that Walmart refunded me part of the money I paid due to the amazing pricematch policy. So far the chair is comfy for its price, great product and good value.

[Employee of walmartcanada] The problem with reviews is that they reflect the conditions experienced in the first use of the product. They should come up with a way to ask for a review, then a month later ask for a follow-up review.

Here is my fresh out of the box review:
1. many retailers fail to note the "weight capacity" of the chair in their description. This is an important factor that may lead to the premature failure of the product. The weight capacity (after researching online before buying) is 113kg or 250lbs. It's noted on the bottom of the seat but that only helps AFTER you have purchased the product. This is considered the "standard weight capacity" for an office chair. You can find ones that cover up to 350lbs, but if they claim to hold 600lbs I'd seriously question it.

2. Things that impressed me: the 5 arm metal "star base", most of these are manufactured out of plastic so having one out of metal gives me a feeling of confidence that I've purchased a durable product. I got this feeling too when I screwed in the bolts, they bit into the holes and held firm. A cheaper quality product will have some play to the bolts and you might hear crunching if it's a cheap chair with a substandard plywood base to the seat. This chair feels like the skeleton might be plywood, disappointing, metal is better but again descriptions fail to really delve into the skeleton of the product. The cushions themselves are "standard" to me, having purchased many chairs over the years, but they appear to be of decent quality for the price.

3. ALL of these chairs tend to use the same instructions for assembly, and ALL of them have the same flaw in their directions. If you want to save yourself a lot of time and frustration I suggest you assemble the chair this way:

The instructions will tell you to mount the seat plate onto the seat cushion and then place this down on the gas lift (steps 2 and 3). WRONG 

What you want to do is to attach the Armrest (left or right) to the seat cushion. First attach one arm, then attach the back cushion. This will create an L-shape. Then you attach the other arm, giving you a secure L-shape with seat cushion and seat back held firmly together by the armrests. 

NEXT (after you attach the seat plate, step 1) you want to place the L-shape assembly down on the gas lift. And you're done.

WHY? If you have ever assembled one of these seats before you know how ridiculous it is to try and put the armrests and back cushion together to the seat cushion while it's suspended on top of the gas lift and spinning around uncontrollably. I don't understand why the instructions tell you to do it this way? You're fighting with motion and gravity the entire time you're trying to assemble the chair.

If you assemble the seat cushion, arm rest, back cushion and other arm rest together first it's very easy to do while sitting on the floor in a stress free position. Once you've got these parts assembled and added the seat plate then it's up onto the gas lift, then you can worry about playing with the handle and knob. 

Please, if anyone who builds these chairs reads this, feel free to contact me to provide a few pictures and explain things better. The end result of doing it my way (instead of the instructions) means that you can have 1 person assemble the chair somewhat stress free within about 20 minutes. 

Beyond this review: it's a solid looking and feeling chair with comfortable cushions, like I said the real test of these products is "at least" a week if not a month. I had one chair splinter and break apart with a couple days while another I had last for several years. It's really a hit and miss.

Decent chair with generic flawed instructions

I just have sat in it for 1 day as there was no mention before purchase that it was a kit & came as a pile of pieces in a large box. The instructions warn of cross threading the screws & it is very easy to do as the inserts in the parts are very soft   SO far only 1 of the screw covers has fallen on the floor
