this is the second floor mate i have bought the first one was at least 10 years old and wasnt sucking the water up like it should. i really loved it.  so far the new one is working very well . it does leak a tiny little bit after you turn it off but not enough to give it a lower rating. this machine is awesome. i don't mind mopping the house now. and the floors fell clean when you walk on it

I  love this floor cleaner.  I had the same one for 4 years. unfortunetelly I filled the tank above the limit line, causing the water and solution to overflow inside the motor. It was my fault that it broke. This is my second one.  Do NOT fill the tank above the capacity line.

I'm not reviewing this newer model. But I'm here to tell you that I cannot live without my original Hoover Floormate!!!! I almost cried after 5 years the plastic piece on the bottom broke off and I thought it was done for!!! I just used it on my kitchen floor to see if it still worked okay, and sure enough, my little beast still works like a charm. I have to pull and push a bit harder since there are no rollers directly in the middle underneath, but who cares!!! 
I am beyond thrilled with the Hoover Floormate and love the fact that it has rotating brushes on the bottom!! Other floor cleaners only have pads or rollers, but doesn't clean as well as the rotating brushes!! I would 100%, no doubt whatsoever, buy another Hoover Floormate when/if this one conks out on me for good. Which I hope and pray it never does!!! Hoover people, keep up the great work and please don't ever switch to cloth or pads on these!! They don't work as well as the brushes!!!

Can't live without my Hoover Floormate

This is my 6th FloorMate. As you can see I like them. The only complaint is when something goes wrong I am clueless. No one in my area repairs them. I have 1 that a part is broken & motor is doing something wicked:} It is the most usefull tool in my cleaning

Love it but need repair people

My floors look very clean after I use it. It leaves a little water on my floor even though I turn the knob on dry. Not sure why there is a button for dry when the wash button is supposed to suck up the water when you pull the unit back. A little confusing.

Cleaner ok

It does a good job on my tile floors.  It takes up most stuck-on food in the kitchen
and it picks up the dirty water very well.  I love that my floors are not a slip and fall risk until they dry like with a regular sponge mop.  It takes so practice to use it right, but it's worth the effort.

Hovers best mop

Does a very good job.  Only drawback is the location and type of on/off switch.  Easy to empty dirty water and easy to fill the clean water side.  Foot release is easy to use and works well.  It even sucks up the liquid that collects in the grout lines of my tiled floors.  Also easy to switch from 'dry' to 'wash' and back.

I like it!

Does not scrub as well as I thought it would. I have tile and was hoping it would work better to clean grout and dirt that's settled into indentations in the tile. I do like that it picks up the cleaning water. It might work better on wood or laminate flooring.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The thing has a weak vacuum, can't even use the wet side without it clogging everything up with a muddy, gummy mess. This was a splurge purchase and I wish I had gotten something different. There are a bunch of nearly inaccessible areas that constantly have to be cleaned out to even get the thing to sweep up dust. Zero stars if I could.

This was a terrible purchase

I ordered this hard floor cleaner and it broke the first time I used it. The expensive floor cleaner runs out as soon as I put it in. I went on the Hoover site to trouble shoot the problem - I tried each of the suggested “fixes”. Nothing helped. I have an expensive piece of plastic that is new but worthless. So frustrating! Beware of this purchase
