Sometimes the tension on the pole slips a little when hanging heavier items, like bedding, but does fine with standard clothing loads. The hook design at the top is also novel, keeps the line from coming off if it's windy or the pole from falling when the tension is taken off the line. Affordable.

Would not tighten enough to hold hight.  Any tension from clothes line collapes the pole. Locking mechanism is plastic and cracked from clothes line weight/tension. Waste of money.

I have been looking for clothesline props for a long time as I like to hang out my clothes to dry during the summer.  I would have preferred an aluminum pole about 7 feet high. Instead, I could fine only these heavy poles that are supposed to tighten in the middle to the appropriate length. Unless one adds some duck tape or the equivalent, even at their tightest, there is slippage which is not good for the clothes on the line.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] the poles expand and are a great height. they do have a prong on the bottom to stick into the dirt, but my line goes over a paved area and I had to stick it into a rubber mat I have.

This was easy to assemble and use in less than 5 minutes.  While it solves the problem of a sagging clothesline, the only complaint I have is that if you do not correctly adjust the pole height, it can slip down and result in the clothes dragging on the ground.  There are two pieces that must be screwed together and "locked" into place but if not secured properly, they will slip allowing the pole to shorten.  Not a dealbreaker but good thing I was keeping an eye on it the first time I used it or I would have been relaundering a load of clothes.  Satisfied enough that I will order another for my second line.  Home delivery was a big bonus for me and it arrived promptly with no problems.

Modern clothespole

This clothes prop is simple and works fine. It is my second one, as a need two for a long line. The only negative for props in general is that they will not remain vertical, but pitch to one side or the other. So, I don't think I could ever give a 5-star rating to any prop until a stabilizing foot is developed.
